Who  Will  Win  this  Race  ?

Many countries are racing to replace petrol / diesel vehicles with Electric Vehicles

Here are the target dates ( for change-over ) set :

·         UK………………. 2040

·         Scotland…….. 2032

·         France………..  2040

·         Norway……….  2025

·         Austria……….   2025

·         Netherlands.   2030

·         China……….     2030

·         Finland…….     2030

·         India……….      2030

As of now , it seems China is far ahead of the rest and looks like the Winner

But do not be surprised if the race is won by the DUTCH and the GERMAN

Reason ?

Their car manufacturers are asking themselves :

What business are we in ?

Are we into a business for manufacture of :

·         Petrol / Diesel cars  ?

·         Hybrid Fuel Cell cars  ?

·         Electric Cars with big Lithium-ion Batteries  ?

Or ,

·         Cars powered by roof-mounted Solar Panels, needing very small Li-ion batteries and no need for any Battery-Charging stations , on the roads ?

Cars capable of “ Self Charging “ while standing or running under the Sun or capable of recharging ( at night ) from domestic electric outlets ?

No doubt , you have read the story of the “ The Tortoise and The Hare  “  !

To me , the DUTCH and the GERMAN look like the proverbial tortoise !

Their FAMILY SEDANS ( capable of carrying 4-5 persons ) , won the Australian Solar Challenge , solely powered by the roof mounted Solar Panels , needing NO EXTERNAL RE-CHARGING  of their small batteries , along 3000 km route !

No need for any EXTERNAL BATTERY CHARGING STATION , what-so-ever  !

All this is happening while ,

·         our own “ ROAD-MAP for ELECTRIC VEHICLES [ named “ EV Eco-System “ ] is getting ready for the past 2 years !

·         EESL is ordering Battery Charging devices and about to come out with a tender for 5.5 LAKH “ Electric Cars “ ( why not “ Cars with Solar Roof Tops  “ ? )

·         Government and Private Sector Indian Car Manufacturers are rushing headlong to set up TESLA type Giga-Factories to manufacture Li-ion batteries

·         Auto part ( component ) manufacturers are pouring millions of rupees to expand capacity to meet rapidly rising demand / sale of petrol / diesel cars

Is following too difficult to grasp ?

·         Li-ion batteries are imported and cost  Rs 5 lakh for car selling at Rs 10 lakh

·         “ Solar Roof Top Car “ will need a very small Li-ion battery costing Rs 2 lakh

·         That will reduce Solar Car price to 70 % of  equivalent petrol / diesel car !

·         With Solar Roof top cars , no need for Battery Charging Stations where a standard “ Electric Car Battery “ would need 5 hours to re-charge ! This is the biggest resistance for demand for EV

·         If public can buy a Solar Car at 70 % of the price of a petrol car and need no charging station and it costs no more than Re 1 / km to drive , then there will be no need to incentivize , either the Car Manufacturers or the buying public with any subsidy !

·         ISRO has already developed a Roof Top Solar Panel mounted car . I am sure ISRO will be happy to offer this technology for FREE to any Indian party

I do hope that, whenever it gets released,  the “ EV Road Map “ follows this strategy to enable India to win this race !

Admin liked your post on hcparekh

They thought Give a Chance to ISRO was pretty awesome.
You should go see what they're up to. Maybe you'll like their blog as much as they liked yours!
