Career History

What is his total experience? Does this match with the experience required for our position/vacancy?

During this “total experience”, how many jobs has he changed ?

Does he seem to be a “job-jumper” ?

Does he seem to have stuck to the same organization for a long time? What could be the reason?

Does he seem to have stuck at the same “Designation – Level “ for a long time ? Was he “un-promotable” ?

He seems to have got very frequent promotions /salary-raise. Does he come through as a “Fast Track” candidate?

Given his “Average/Longest/Minimum” tenure with the companies where he worked, how long can we expect him to stay with us ?

He is in his current job for less than a year. Why is he keen to quit within such a short period?

Is he platueing? i.e. rose very rapidly in early years but now seems to have slowed down.

In terms of the size/turnover/reputation of the companies where he has worked, does he seem to have steadily “progressed”? Are there any reversals? i.e. leaving a large/organized company to join a small/family owned company.

Has he spent his entire career in one city or is he mobile?

Does his “Total Years of Experience” tally with his current age ? If not, does he seem to have “inflated” his experience ? Or, he should have got 20 years of experience by now, but graph shows only 12 years ! Has he failed to “list” some “unfavorable” tenures? e.g.: where his services were terminated or where the service was “temporary/contractual” ?

Did any of the companies that he worked for, belong to his father/relative? If so, what was his designation/salary during such tenure? Was that commensurate with his qualifications/experience?

During his career, were there any periods of “self-employment” ? If so, has he listed those in his “Career History” section? What factors made him “start/give-up” such self employment?

Salary

He seems to have picked-up a huge salary-jump, everytime he changed jobs. What kind of salary-increase would he expect us to offer to motivate him to change ? Can we afford ? Would that upset a lot of our existing employees and demotivate them ? Would we be upsetting the apple-cart ?

Has his salary kept pace with his rise up the career ladder ? Is his salary lagging behind/ way ahead of a majority of his co-professionals ? How does it compare with similar professionals in our organization ?

What seems to be his “trade-off” between

  a) Salary

  b) Designation Level ?

Would he be prepared to accept

  . Same salary ( his current salary ), if offered a higher/better designation ?

. Same designation ( his current designation ), if offered a higher salary ?

Academic Inputs

At what age did he pass

  . SSC

  . Bachelor’s Degree

  . Master’s Degree

Do these seem reasonable ?

What no. of years did he take to pass

  . Bachelor’s Degree

  . Master’s Degree

Does he seem to have taken longer than stipulated period? Could he have failed once – or more?

Were any of these qualifications obtained through “Correspondence – Course” ? or through “Part-time study” in evenings ? If so, for how long ?

What about the educational institutions/universities that he attended? Are these recognized/reputed/accredited institutions?

Why did he not pursue higher studies in the same institution/university ? Why did he have to go to another state/country ?

Is there an “overlap” between

If yes, how did he manage that ?

If there is a substantial “gap” between

Then, what did he do during that period ?

An Option for All Seasons

I came across following cartoon in today’s Hindustan Times :

I asked www.My-Teacher.in  ( Questions Beyond Syllabus ) :

“For the following question, you have to choose one from among five given options . Question > The weather was very hot. What season would it be ? > Options : ( 1 ) Spring ( 2 ) Winter ( 3 ) Autumn ( 4 ) Monsoon ( 5 ) All of the above “

www.My-Teacher.in  replied :

“The weather was very hot, so it would be summer. However, since "summer" is not listed among the options provided and considering typical seasonal characteristics, the closest match from the given options would be (4) Monsoon, as it can also feature hot weather especially before rainfalls. “

NEET Reform ? How about this ?

Dear Principal ,

Next NEET UG exam is going to be a CBT ( Computer Based Test )

Ever since the NEET question paper leak in last May , this was expected

Now we have confirmation from the news report at the bottom

It is natural for you to wonder :

What can I do to prepare my students for this change so that they are quite “ at home “ when appearing in a CBT NEET  ?

It is quite simple

Just get them “ accustomed “ to taking ONLINE tests – on their Mobiles - and unannounced as well  !

On our FREE platform >  www.My-Teacher.in

Just ask your teachers ( 9th to 12th Standards ) to access www.My-Teacher.in , from their Mobiles and select,

“ I AM A TEACHER “

As far as the process of administering ONLINE tests is concerned, nothing comes close to www.My-Teacher.in :

o    This portal enables your teachers to prepare a Real test for their students

o    They can create “ Unlimited Number “ of tests ( MCQ ) , without need to Register or Login

o    They can create a COMMON paper for all the students , OR , a different paper for each student

o    They can conduct this test ONLINE ( if your students have access to a Mobile or Computer ) , OR

o    They can conduct this test OFFLINE ( if you want to conduct this test with students in the classroom ). In this case , from her Mobile , teacher gets to select >  Printer > No of copies > Paper size

o    If conducted ONLINE, the results of these tests can be emailed to the teacher ( along with the correct ANSWER SHEET ), and some statistics of the test

o    The test is created automatically by AI , working behind this portal

This Artificial Intelligence ( AI ), allows your teacher to specify :

o    The subject for which she would like to create this test

o    The standard for which she would like to create this test

o    The number of questions that she would like to have in this test OR the duration she would like to permit her students to attempt this test ( in which case, the number of questions will be decided by the AI )

o    On a scale of 1 – 10 , the difficulty level for the entire test ( created automatically by the AI ). It also gives her the flexibility to specify difficulty levels

o    The AI can generate “ marks “ for each question by itself . OR , allow you to specify marks for each question

Dear Principal ,

It is quite likely that the students of your school are NOT allowed to bring Mobile phones / laptops, in the class room

This will have to change.

If not everyday, then at least on pre-announced “ Surprise Test Day “,  you will need to allow them to bring their mobiles with them

Remember, only if conducted ONLINE ( students attempting from their Mobiles ) :

-        the results of these tests can be emailed to the teacher ( along with the correct ANSWER SHEET ), and some statistics of the test

But then , to get a copy of the TEST RESULT yourself , all that you have to do is to INSTRUCT all teachers to enter your Email ID as well .

You want to know, what kind of ONLINE tests are teachers administering , how often and how are the students performing in these tests

Of course, a teacher can use PRINT command on her mobile and print out the QUESTION PAPERS on any nearby printer and distribute to the students – then collect the papers after 40 minutes and RATE these manually – then prepare an EXCEL sheet and email to you

That might not find favour with your teachers !

Hemen Prekh

Extract :

“  With the key parts of the report on the NEET UG leak is likely to be kept “ classified “ , recommendations made in the report on overall exam reforms will be made public….

Intensive and in-depth consultations were held with various stakeholders on NEET UG leak, the kind of methods being used by the leak mafia, and the various exam and data safety protocols in place at the NTA

Much information on possible breach areas and protocol lacunae is also there…..

ET has learnt that the panel is preparing to recommend short term and long term measures in its report which will be made public.

The report is said to be largely in favor of the Computer Based Test ( CBT )  format but with a well-outlined security protocol in place

The under radar NEET UG exam is also likely to head for a revamp with panel discussions clearly favoring a shift from a single day , PEN and PAPER test to CBT mode spread over a few days

A two stage NEET UG is under consideration much like the Joint Entrance Examination ( JEE ) . Only those who clear JEE Mains are eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced that determines admissions to IITs. A similar model of a two stage exam is being mulled for NEET UG as well………

Limiting the number of attempts at NEET is also likely to be seriously recommended by the panel. Currently, the NEET UG eligibility conditions do not place age limits or any limit on number of attempts which is said to significantly increase the number of candidates in the fray
