Reliance provides Proof of Concept

Context :

Addverb gets RIL’s $1billion robot order – Times of India    /  17 Feb 2022

Extract :

Addverb Technologies, in which Reliance Retail recently picked up a majority stake for $132 million, has received orders worth around $1 billion, spread over four-to-five years, from the Mumbai-based conglomerate for robots with 5G technology.

The robots will be deployed in
Reliance Industries’ (RIL’s) Jamnagar refinery, sources said.

They can be operated out of Mumbai, which will allow RIL to experiment with 5G tech.

Reliance did not comment on this story.

While the Noida-headquartered Addverb refused to comment on value of the orders, it said that a tugging inventory consisting of a fleet of Dynamo 200 bots, virtually connected through 5G network, are being controlled through Legion, its fleet management system hosted over the remote server located in Ahmedabad, that is used for intra-logistics operations inside the plant at Jamnagar.

In addition, a fleet of Dynamo series of bots with one ton payload capacity, virtually connected over the 5G network, have been used for bagging line automation, where they fetch the pallets of refinery bags.

MY  TAKE  :

" BACK FACTORY " OF THE WORLD ?........................... [ 09 Sept 2015 ]

Extract :

China is known as the " Factory " of the World

India is known as the  " Back Office " of the World

Can India become the " Back Factory " of the World ?

Wrong question !

Right question is : WHEN can we become the " Back Factory " of the World ?

Answer is " hiding in plain sight " !

This week , an astronaut , sitting in a satellite 400 km above the earth and hurtling through space at 16,000 km per hour, operated a robot on the earth

Earlier, scientists sitting in NASA space centre or in Shri Harikota space centre, have operated Mars Rovers / MOM ( Mars Orbital Mission ) remotely

From a distance of millions of miles

And soon, astronauts  will be sending emails to earthlings from millions of miles away , using " Space Internet " on their Mobile phones

Invariably, each such team of scientists, comprised Indians !

So, WHEN can our scientists - and software Start Ups - enable Indian workers, sitting in Hyderabad / Chennai etc, to operate / manipulate, machinery in factories of Europe / America / China ?

I believe this can become a reality by 2020 , if Central Government and State Governments, just get out of the way of our scientists/ Start Ups and leave them alone !

Then tell them :

" You are our next generation of Freedom Fighters .

Free our millions from poverty / starvation / jobless depression / ignominy / suicides

Like war - ravaged people of North Africa, Indians cannot invade Europe / Australia / Canada, in search of jobs / better life

We depend upon you to bring the jobs to India - jobs such as ,

  *   Operating Machinery in Factories abroad

  *   Controlling Air Traffic at Airports around the World

  *   Operating upon patients in Hospitals , all over

  *   Teaching students in Schools , in remote Africa

  *   Any job that currently requires immediate presence of a worker

And,

if you set up a " Back Factory " , you don't need to pay Corporate Income Tax for next 10 years !

SIMPLY REGISTER ON WEB SITE OF INCOME TAX DEPARTMENT AS A " BACK FACTORY " OWNER AND FILE ANNUAL " ZERO CORPORATE TAX RETURN "

When this happens ,

>  Millions of skilled Indian workers will operate factories around the World ,

sitting in, internet connected " Back Factories " in small Indian towns

>  Foxcon will not need to replace its high-wage Chinese workers with one

million robots ( as officially announced sometime back )

At half the wages of those Chinese workers, Indians will operate Foxcon

factories , all over the World, remotely !

>  " Contract Labour Act " will need to be replaced with " Back Factory Act “

>  " Minimum Wages Act " will need to be scrapped !

>   India will not need to fight with WTO on " Manpower / Service Exports "

>   " Make in India " will morph into " Make from India "

I hope NDA Ministers and members of NITI Aayog will ask, Narayan Murthy / Sam Pitroda / Azim Premji / Sundar Pichai / Satya Nadela / Ray Kurzweil etc :

"  How soon can this be done ? How can you help ? "

ELON , You have missed the Bus / by 5 YEARS

Phased Manufacturing Programme (PMP)

( source : https://e-amrit.niti.gov.in/national-level-policy )

To boost electric mobility and promote development of electric vehicles, a phased manufacturing roadmap has been developed, taking into account the current state of the manufacturing ecosystem in the country, in which indigenous manufacturing of electric vehicles, their assemblies/sub-assemblies, and parts/sub-parts/inputs of the sub-assemblies will be promoted over time through a graded duty structure. The goal is to significantly boost value addition and capacity building in the country.

The following Phased Manufacturing Programme (PMP) is notified:

MY TAKE :

Will Tesla follow Apple ?............................ [ 23 May 2017 ]

Extract :

Dear Elon :

For immediate approval ( in 24 hours ) , pl submit your PMP as follows :

2017-18  :

Set up factory next to Mundra Port ( Gujarat ) to facilitate world-wide exports

2018-19  :

Source locally , Tyres / Chasis / Body / Electricals  / Windows / Dashboards ..etc

2019-20   :

Manufacture in your own factory , Li-ion Battery  / Wall-mounted Powerpack Storages / Solar Roof Tiles

2020-21  :

Manufacture  RFID Sensors - Cameras – GPS locators

2021-22   :

Augmented Reality  Devices  /  Autonomous Navigation Devices ( Radar – Lidar  )

Now , it is very possible that neither Shri Gadkariji , nor Shri Goyalji , would be satisfied with such a slow PMP , spread out over a period of 5 years

They may , well request  Elon to cut it down to 3 years

Reducing custom duty ( from current 110 % to 40 % - as requested by TESLA and some other foreign manufacturers , would not make any dent in India’s Electric car market, as can be seen from :

To beat OR not to beat ?........................... [ 29 Dec 2020 ]

At the most , those imported cars ( selling for Rs 40 lakh + , even with 40 % duty ), could have sold 3,000 numbers out of Indian market of 3 MILLION  !

That is not the point

Point is simple :

Ø  TESLA must come to India with a firm commitment for Local Manufacture

Ø  There was nothing difficult for TESLA to accept the Phased Manufacturing Program suggested by me above, some 5 YEARS back

Ø  The PMP announced by GOI, last week ( shown above ) is almost IDENTICAL to my 2017 proposal

Dear Ashwini Vaishnawji : How Many Apps will you Ban ?

Context :

Govt issues order to ban 54 Chinese apps /  ET  /  14 Feb 2022

Extract :

The union government has issued fresh orders to ban over 54 Chinese apps, terming them a threat to privacy and security of Indians, officials aware of the development told us.

New avatars:

Many of these apps belong to large Chinese tech firms such as Tencent, Alibaba and gaming firm NetEase, and are “rebranded or rechristened avatars” of apps that have been banned in India since 2020.

The ministry of electronics and IT issued the latest ban order on the grounds that these apps were transferring sensitive data of Indians to servers in foreign countries such as China.

It has also directed top app stores including Google’s Play Store to block these applications. “The 54 apps have already been blocked in India on the Play Store,” an official said.

Meity used its powers under the Section 69a of the Information Technology Act, 2000 to enforce the order.

224 apps banned:

Since June 2020, the government has banned a total of around 224 Chinese apps.

The first round of bans covered 59 apps including popular applications such as TikTok, Shareit, WeChat, Helo, Likee, UC News, Bigo Live, UC Browser, ES File Explorer, and Mi Community.

In November, another 43 Chinese apps were banned, including Snack Video, AliExpress and AliPay Cashier.

In September, the government banned another 118 apps.

MY  TAKE  :

Sundar Pichai : Google don’t need Cookies …………………..[ 06 Feb 2022 ]

Extract :

ON WEBSITES :

98 % …. Websites have at least one tracker embedded

21 ……….Third Party Trackers are embedded in a website on an average. Out of

these, 8 are Third Party Cookies

98 %.......Websites’ embedded 3rd parties were involved in Advertising & Tracking

REMARKS :

Ø  The number of Android apps accessing camera and microphone permissions in

          smartphones, has increased from 45 % to 68 % and 28 % to 54 % , in the

last 5 years, revealed a study by data security and privacy firm ARRKA

Ø  It comprised 201 mobile apps and websites and included 100 Indian

          Organizations, across 25 industries

Ø  The firm has been tracking these for the last 5 years and found that :

#  Google is the SINGLE LARGEST third party with whom data is being

    shared,

#  followed by Facebook

Ø   Google’s trackers are present in 97 % websites and Facebook’s trackers in

           55 % websites

Ø    Around 42 % Android Apps share data with Google and 25 % with Facebook

Replace Locally : Displace Globally ……………………………….. [ 02 July 2020 ]

Extract :

Let us think BIG . Let us expand our HORIZON

Even as we go about developing / launching India-made Apps to REPLACE those Chinese Apps, locally, our goal should be to DISPLACE them, globally  !

That thought made me send following email yesterday :

Dear Shri Prasadji,

Most of those 59 Chinese Apps you banned, are in respect of :

      Ø  Video –based Entertainment

      Ø  Social Get-together

      Ø  Messaging – Chatting – Status Posting …etc

I am not aware if any of these are in the nature of,

Ø  Providing online “ Govt Services “ to citizen ( like UMANG )

Ø  Help people get JOB-ALERTS / APPLY ONLINE from their mobiles

Ø  Attend to Citizen Complaints and give feedback on progress of “ Complaint

          Solution

      Ø  Simplify Social-Economic-Political processes……..etc

Ï urge you to take a look at the ( proposed ) APPS listed below- then advise the Indian Startups re the priorities :

An App for Everything ?                                      [  18  Aug  2017  ]

Without doubt, when launched, many of these will get adopted by developing

countries around the World – countries which are facing problems very similar to

 our own

Here is our opportunity to replace those “ Non-utilitarian Chinese Apps “, not

only in Indiabut in 80 % of the countries of the World
