Government introducing a 2
% Equalization Tax ( Google Tax ) on Social Media companies , was a welcome
FIRST STEP
There are reports that
since its introduction in 2016 , it has garnered Rs 216
crore for the Government ( approx. Rs 50 crore /
year )
My above-mentioned
suggestion ( of making Social Media Websites / E-com companies / Data Vendors
etc , pay directly to EACH registered INDIAN, Rs 50,000 / month ), translates
into Rs 300 BILLION / YEAR
!
Have no doubt that, sooner
than later, some country whose economy takes the biggest beating due to Covid
pandemic, is bound to implement my suggestion
