Extract from the article:

The upcoming launch of eShram 2.0 portal promises new features focusing on the eligibility criteria for various welfare schemes.

The Ministry of Labour & Employment's initiative with the original eShram portal in August 2021 aimed at creating a comprehensive National Database of Unorganised Workers.

The portal saw a significant surge in registrations, with migrant workers signifying their interest by registering at a rate of about 5 lakh per day, a remarkable increase from the initial rate of 2 lakh per day during the first week.

The government's objective to register the entirety of the estimated 38 crore un-organised migrant workers could now be expedited with the enhanced features of eShram 2.0.

The portal, with its updated functionalities, is poised to streamline the registration process further and potentially increase daily registration averages.

This evolution in the eShram portal reflects a progressive approach towards addressing the needs of unorganised workers and streamlining access to welfare schemes.

My Take:

A Portal that is Popular

"In my post from 25th August 2021, I had speculated about the ease of access and usage of the eShram portal.

The recent developments with eShram 2.0 align with my earlier thoughts on simplifying the registration process for unorganised workers.

The surge in registration numbers mirrors the potential I foresaw in increasing the uptake of such initiatives."

Congratulations, Dear Labour Minister

"Reflecting back on my post dated 26th August 2021, where I discussed the registration trends on the eShram portal, the present expansion to eShram 2.0 speaks volumes about the government's commitment to inclusivity.

This echoes my call for continuous improvement and adaptation to meet the evolving needs of unorganised workers."

Call to Action:

To the Ministry of Labour & Employment,

-       continue innovating and enhancing eShram 2.0 to ensure seamless access and assistance to unorganised workers.

-       Prioritize user experience and accessibility to facilitate a more inclusive and efficient registration process.

With regards,
