An Option for All Seasons

I came across following cartoon in today’s Hindustan Times :

I asked www.My-Teacher.in  ( Questions Beyond Syllabus ) :

“For the following question, you have to choose one from among five given options . Question > The weather was very hot. What season would it be ? > Options : ( 1 ) Spring ( 2 ) Winter ( 3 ) Autumn ( 4 ) Monsoon ( 5 ) All of the above “

www.My-Teacher.in  replied :

“The weather was very hot, so it would be summer. However, since "summer" is not listed among the options provided and considering typical seasonal characteristics, the closest match from the given options would be (4) Monsoon, as it can also feature hot weather especially before rainfalls. “

NEET Reform ? How about this ?

Dear Principal ,

Next NEET UG exam is going to be a CBT ( Computer Based Test )

Ever since the NEET question paper leak in last May , this was expected

Now we have confirmation from the news report at the bottom

It is natural for you to wonder :

What can I do to prepare my students for this change so that they are quite “ at home “ when appearing in a CBT NEET  ?

It is quite simple

Just get them “ accustomed “ to taking ONLINE tests – on their Mobiles - and unannounced as well  !

On our FREE platform >  www.My-Teacher.in

Just ask your teachers ( 9th to 12th Standards ) to access www.My-Teacher.in , from their Mobiles and select,

“ I AM A TEACHER “

As far as the process of administering ONLINE tests is concerned, nothing comes close to www.My-Teacher.in :

o    This portal enables your teachers to prepare a Real test for their students

o    They can create “ Unlimited Number “ of tests ( MCQ ) , without need to Register or Login

o    They can create a COMMON paper for all the students , OR , a different paper for each student

o    They can conduct this test ONLINE ( if your students have access to a Mobile or Computer ) , OR

o    They can conduct this test OFFLINE ( if you want to conduct this test with students in the classroom ). In this case , from her Mobile , teacher gets to select >  Printer > No of copies > Paper size

o    If conducted ONLINE, the results of these tests can be emailed to the teacher ( along with the correct ANSWER SHEET ), and some statistics of the test

o    The test is created automatically by AI , working behind this portal

This Artificial Intelligence ( AI ), allows your teacher to specify :

o    The subject for which she would like to create this test

o    The standard for which she would like to create this test

o    The number of questions that she would like to have in this test OR the duration she would like to permit her students to attempt this test ( in which case, the number of questions will be decided by the AI )

o    On a scale of 1 – 10 , the difficulty level for the entire test ( created automatically by the AI ). It also gives her the flexibility to specify difficulty levels

o    The AI can generate “ marks “ for each question by itself . OR , allow you to specify marks for each question

Dear Principal ,

It is quite likely that the students of your school are NOT allowed to bring Mobile phones / laptops, in the class room

This will have to change.

If not everyday, then at least on pre-announced “ Surprise Test Day “,  you will need to allow them to bring their mobiles with them

Remember, only if conducted ONLINE ( students attempting from their Mobiles ) :

-        the results of these tests can be emailed to the teacher ( along with the correct ANSWER SHEET ), and some statistics of the test

But then , to get a copy of the TEST RESULT yourself , all that you have to do is to INSTRUCT all teachers to enter your Email ID as well .

You want to know, what kind of ONLINE tests are teachers administering , how often and how are the students performing in these tests

Of course, a teacher can use PRINT command on her mobile and print out the QUESTION PAPERS on any nearby printer and distribute to the students – then collect the papers after 40 minutes and RATE these manually – then prepare an EXCEL sheet and email to you

That might not find favour with your teachers !

Hemen Prekh

“  With the key parts of the report on the NEET UG leak is likely to be kept “ classified “ , recommendations made in the report on overall exam reforms will be made public….

Intensive and in-depth consultations were held with various stakeholders on NEET UG leak, the kind of methods being used by the leak mafia, and the various exam and data safety protocols in place at the NTA

Much information on possible breach areas and protocol lacunae is also there…..

ET has learnt that the panel is preparing to recommend short term and long term measures in its report which will be made public.

The report is said to be largely in favor of the Computer Based Test ( CBT )  format but with a well-outlined security protocol in place

The under radar NEET UG exam is also likely to head for a revamp with panel discussions clearly favoring a shift from a single day , PEN and PAPER test to CBT mode spread over a few days

A two stage NEET UG is under consideration much like the Joint Entrance Examination ( JEE ) . Only those who clear JEE Mains are eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced that determines admissions to IITs. A similar model of a two stage exam is being mulled for NEET UG as well………

Limiting the number of attempts at NEET is also likely to be seriously recommended by the panel. Currently, the NEET UG eligibility conditions do not place age limits or any limit on number of attempts which is said to significantly increase the number of candidates in the fray

Google-backed edtech startup Adda247 on Tuesday said that it has acquired Ekagrata Eduserv, a chartered accountancy (CA) test preparation firm.

The move marks Adda247's entry into the
CA test preparation market.

“This acquisition is expected to significantly expand Adda247’s user base, which currently has 40 million monthly users,” the company said in a statement, without disclosing the financial details of the deal.

With this buyout, the startup has acquired three companies, including StudyIQ, a UPSC preparation platform, in 2021, and Veeksha, an augmented reality/virtual reality learning modules platform, in 2023.

“We’ve been planning to launch the CA category, and in
Ekagrata, we found the perfect team to lead and grow this segment. Over the next several years, we aim to invest substantially in this category and establish a leadership position in the CA test preparation market,” said Adda247 CEO Anil Nagar.

Started by Nagar and Saurabh Bansal in 2016, the platform offers courses for jobs in public sector banks, government departments and the railways. Its offerings include live online classes, on-demand video courses, mock tests, E-books and books tailored for specific exams.

Adda247 provides courses in 12 regional languages and plans to extend its reach to two-three more states and languages this year.

The founders and employees of Ekagrata Eduserv will join Adda247. Anshul Agrawal, founder of Ekagrata Eduserv, will be appointed director-CA at Adda247 to lead that category.

“Joining forces with Adda247 presents an exciting opportunity to scale our impact in the CA test preparation space,” said Agrawal.

As of May, Adda247 has about one million paid users, and the company aims to reach 1.7 million paid users by the end of this year.

The Gurgaon-based company reported
revenue of Rs 243.39 crore for 2023-24, up 88% from Rs 129.65 crore in the previous financial year. Its net loss reduced 66% to Rs 101 crore from Rs 296 crore during this period.

The company last
raised $35 million in 2022 in a funding round led by WestBridge Capital. The round also saw participation from Google, along with existing investors such as Info Edge Ventures and Asha Impact. In total, it has raised $63 million.

Promo Mail for Principals ( 11 July 2024 )

Dear Principal ,

Question :

Do your students use Mobile phones in class rooms ?

That is a silly question . Most likely you do not permit them to carry their mobile in the school . But of course, they use it at home

Question should be :

Do they know which AI-based Educational Tool, should they be using on their mobiles ?

Question cannot be :

WHETHER  they should be using such a tool at all. They are bound to find one or more, on their own – without waiting for your recommendation

Question is :

WHICH one should they use ?

There are as many as 22 such Educational Apps available – designed for Indian School students

( write to me for a COMPARATIVE TABULATION of these 22 tools )

I have a strong reason to think that you would recommend >  www.My-Teacher.in

Question :

Why would you recommend www.My-Teacher.in  ?

Answer :

It is the only tool that motivates a child to be CURIOUS – INQUISITIVE – CREATIVE , by not only asking  Syllabus  related questions ( in 9 Indian languages ) but also by asking “ Questions Beyond Syllabus “ at feature “ Make Students Think

When I say “ asking “, I mean it. They can just “ speak out “ any question – and My-Teacher will talk back ! Of course, that answer will also appear in TEXT, in case student wants to copy it

What kind of questions ?

For a sample, look up >  For a Creative Child : Questions Beyond Syllabus

Do my students have to pay for this service ?

Absolutely NOTHING . It is totally FREE – for unlimited usage. It does not even require a student to REGISTER or Login

From where can students download this App ?

No need to download / install . In mobile browser ,  just type > www.My-Teacher.in

Dear Principals :

Just came across this about Jamnabai Narsee School , JVPD – Mumbai :

  • Education World India School Rankings 2022. (Co-ed Day Schools category) - Ranked 1 in Mumbai, 2nd in Maharashtra and 9th in India.
  • Times Education Icons Mumbai 2022 - Ranked 1 in the National Curriculum category.

 [ source > https://www.jns.ac.in/awards-recognition.php  ]

Apart from its physical infrastructure, this rank depends upon the consistent performance (  %age passing in Board exams ) of its 10th and 12th standard students

In turn , this depends upon :

Ø  Quality of the teachers

Ø  Methods of teaching

Outstanding physical infra could cost crores of rupees – and , even if funds were no problem, it takes years to acquire

But , as far as “ methods of teaching “ is concerned , now there is a way for your school , to overtake all the other schools of Mumbai

And this method is totally FREE  !

Just ask your teachers ( 9th to 12th Standards ) to Access www.My-Teacher.in , from their Mobiles and select

 “ I AM A TEACHER “

As far as the following METHOD is concerned, no Edu App comes even close to our following offer :

Ø  This portal enables your teachers to prepare a Real test for their students

Ø  They can create “ Unlimited Number “ of tests ( MCQ ) , without need to Register or Login

Ø  They can create a COMMON paper for all the students , OR , a different paper for each student

Ø  If conducted ONLINE, the results of these tests can be emailed to the teacher ( along with the correct ANSWER SHEET ), and some statistics of the test

Ø  The test is created automatically by AI , working behind this portal

This Artificial Intelligence ( AI ), allows your teacher to specify :

Ø  The subject for which she would like to create this test

Ø  The standard for which she would like to create this test

Ø  The number of questions that she would like to have in this test OR the duration she would like to permit her students to attempt this test ( in which case, the number of questions will be decided by the AI )

Ø  On a scale of 1 – 10 , the difficulty level for the entire test ( created automatically by the AI ). It also gives her the flexibility to specify difficulty levels

Ø  The AI can generate “ marks “ for each question by itself . OR , allow you to specify marks for each question
