Come
October 1, senior citizens seeking work opportunities will be able to register
themselves on a FIRST OF ITS KIND , dedicated employment exchange portal , starting Oct 1
The
“ Senior Able Citizens for Re-employment in Dignity ( SACRED ) “ portal being
steered by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment ( MoSJ&E ), will
enable,
Ø
Virtual Matching of employable elderly of 60 years and
above, with the Employers who will come forward and REGISTER on the platform

Secretary, R Subrahmanyam explained that,
Ø
This
Employment Exchange is going to be an INTERACTIVE PLATFORM, where stakeholders meet each other VIRTUALLY
and decide on the COURSE of ACTION
While the portal
creates a provision for CAPTURING
FEEDBACK and OUTCOMES , in
terms of “ how many
seniors got employment “, the Ministry is clear that the employment
exchange portal does not guarantee any job
Once the portal
goes live, a Senior Citizen can register with,
Ø
Relevant
Education
Ø
Past Experience
Ø
Skills, and
Ø
Areas of
interest
The person will
also have the option to,
Ø
Select Keywords regarding expected tasks,
Which will enable
the job-providers find them AUTOMATICALLY
The portal also
allows senior citizens to UPDATE their details at any point of time, after
registration
The job-providers
on their part, while registering on the portal,
Ø
Will specify the TASK involved, and
Ø
The number
of Senior Citizens that are required to complete it
Based on the MATCHING CRITERIA, the Senior Citizen will be able to
CONTACT the job-providers
To ensure privacy,
no documents of the applicant or job-provider shall be stored on the portal

suggested as follows :
Ø For the
Design Team of SACRED, to “ copy “(for
benefit of the retirees ), the matchmaking
process of traditional job-portals, is a simple and
straight forward process
Ø I urge you to
resist the temptation of such a COPY-CAT following of
existing job-portals .
It
will amount to RE-INVENTING the WHEEL !
Following
is my suggestion for SACRED platform
:
# As with current job-portals, it will require retired professionals to submit a
detailed RESUME
# Besides standard PERSONAL data (+ contact details ), the resume will have
greater emphasis on CAREER
each Company / Organization served – Duration – Salary drawn –
Designation / Title held – Functional Responsibility – No of employees
supervised etc
# Employers(Recruiters) too, would register and provide Company details, but
there will be no Job-Posting
# Employers would have facility of “ Resume Search / Shortlisting “ and sending
e-mails
to targeted
desired completion target / compensation etc
# SACRED platform would provide ONLINE VIDEO DISCUSSION
/CONSULTATIONS between a retired
Company executives ( quite like ZOOM – Google Meet etc )
# Platform would also have facility to enable Company to make online
payment (of
agreed fees ), to
# Platform would enable such
online consultations in VIRTUAL CABINS
# Platform will “ assign “ a specific Virtual Cabin to a Company ( with scheduling
/ cabin booking process )
# On SACRED platform, there will be no limit to the number of Virtual Cabins
that can be generated.
Upon
Employer.
Platform will support thousands of consultations,
simultaneously
# Platform would charge a small ( token ) fee to the Employer Company, linked
to its

Already, online
meetings being conducted using ZOOM – GOOGLE MEET, are virtual, but in 2D
What would make
SACRED, a truly “ One of its kind “, is enabling the job-provider executive and the
retired professional to face each other in Virtual Cabins, as VOLUMETRIC
