Even public figures, with all the resources at their disposal, can sometimes miss the mark on simple facts. And when this happens, a clear, unequivocal correction is not just helpful but essential for setting the record straight.
This incident immediately brought to mind my own reflections on the critical importance of clear and transparent communication, particularly when public perception is at stake. I have long argued that simply asserting the truth is not enough; one must also ensure that the truth is perceived as such. Years ago, I emphasized this very point in the context of public initiatives, observing that merely shouting down opposition doesn't help. What truly helps is to engage directly with citizens, explaining the why behind the information requested and how it benefits them, thereby removing doubts and anxieties Better Late than Never.
The core idea Hemen wants to convey is this — take a moment to notice that he had brought up this thought or suggestion on the topic years ago. He had already predicted this challenge, and he had even proposed a solution at the time. Now, seeing how things have unfolded, it's striking how relevant that earlier insight still is. Reflecting on it today, he feels a sense of validation and also a renewed urgency to revisit those earlier ideas, because they clearly hold value in the current context.
