The recent observations regarding the challenges faced by Indians in the US, from the complexities of H-1B visas to the pervasive rise of social media hate, resonate deeply with me. It's a stark reminder of the fragile nature of our digital interactions and their profound impact on real lives, as highlighted in the article "H-1B heat to social media hate: Why Indians in US are on edge" from The Times of India.
I've often reflected on the power of compelling content and its role in shaping public discourse. Years ago, I emphasized to Sanjivani and Kailas the importance of daily engagement with newsletters like Social Media Examiner and Zeke Camusio's (https://www.linkedin.com/in/zekecamusio, zeke@dataspeaks.ai) insights, specifically to build meaningful content on my website and across platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn. Zeke's advice on crafting "pretty posts that pack a punch" 11 WordPress Techniques for Pretty Posts That Pack a Punch feels particularly poignant now. The goal was always to foster B2B connections, but the underlying principle was about effective, positive communication. It makes me wonder if a consistent focus on such quality content could have helped mitigate some of the online vitriol we see today.
Indeed, the core idea Hemen wants to convey is this — take a moment to notice that he had brought up this thought or suggestion on the topic years ago. He had already predicted the challenges of digital communication and the need for thoughtful engagement, and he had even proposed a solution at the time: to prioritize clear, compelling, and strategically aligned content. Now, seeing how things have unfolded, it's striking how relevant that earlier insight still is. Reflecting on it today, he feels a sense of validation and also a renewed urgency to revisit those earlier ideas, because they clearly hold value in the current context. The rise of "social media hate" underscores the critical need for well-crafted, honest narratives that foster understanding rather than division.
My ongoing discussions with Kishan (https://www.linkedin.com/in/kishanspatel) about training Blog Genie to accurately reference my past blogs Training of Blog Genie V 1.0 also touch upon this. If even AI can make mistakes in selecting relevant information, as we've observed, imagine the potential for human misinterpretation and the spread of negativity when communication is not carefully curated. The pursuit of making my digital twin, an AI, truly imbibe my "way of thinking – style of writing / composing / expressing" (as discussed in my blog to Kishan Next Step in Evolution of My Virtual Avatar) is precisely about ensuring that future discourse, even if automated, carries the weight of careful thought and positive intent.
In an age where information, and misinformation, spreads like wildfire, my earlier emphasis on responsible content creation and strategic communication is more relevant than ever. It's a call to reflect on how we present ourselves and interact online, not just for business, but for fostering a respectful and inclusive global community. The challenges faced by the Indian diaspora in the US highlight the urgent need for empathy and thoughtful dialogue in our increasingly interconnected world.
Regards,
Hemen Parekh
