Mukesh : the Enabler

In Sanskrit ,

Muk  =  Silent     /    Ish    =   God

Conjoined ,  Mukesh  =  Silent God

But Mukesh Ambani does not want to be a “ silent god “

He prefers to be an “ Outspoken Enabler “ for millions of young Indians ( employed / unemployed / self employed )

How ?

At the recent India Mobile Congress , Reliance Jio , in partnership with Ericsson , envisioned following :

( Source :

Reliance Jio Infocomm and Ericsson Friday said they had unveiled jointly developed 5G use cases which were showcased over a live 5G network in Navi Mumbai and in Delhi.

The use cases leveraged the gigabit speed and ultra-low latency capabilities of the nextgen technology to highlight key benefits such as
·         the remote operation of machines (robotic arms, vehicles), and
·         possibilities enabled through virtual reality (VR)

Nunzio Mirtillo, head of South East Asia, Oceania and India at Ericsson, says: “Our goal behind developing use cases with our partners is to develop tangible concepts that can be taken forward and implemented by industry”.

He added that the use cases unveiled Friday can find application in sectors such as mining, education, and healthcare.

Additionally, the use of VR within the healthcare space continues to grow even as new solutions and applications are being developed for use in hospitals, medical consultant surgeries, training institutions, and more.

And Mumbai Mirror reported :

“ 5G introduces the ability to REMOTELY CONTROL devices and HEAVY MACHINERY, thus unlocking the potential for improved mission-critical applications in MEDICAL SERVICES , SURGERIES , and INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION that would otherwise be unavailable “

“ 5G will also allow for operations of MACHINES to be controlled in hazardous conditions in order to keep human life safe “

“ Jio also sees use for 5G in TELEMEDICINES – a practice of using telecommunication technology to evaluate , diagnose and TREAT PATIENTS , remotely

He ( Mukesh Ambani ) however sounded a word of caution on data usage :

“ We have to be mindful that data is the MOST IMPORTANT RESOURCE in this new world

And India and Indians will generate a humongous amount of data . It is important that we utilize this rich resource for the benefit of India and Indians, with adequate safeguards “

On 09 Sept 2015 , I wrote in following blog ( sent as email to our Policy Makers ) :

" BACK FACTORY " OF THE WORLD ?

We depend upon you to bring the jobs to India - jobs such as ,

  *   Operating Machinery in Factories abroad

  *   Controlling Air Traffic at Airports around the World

  *   Operating upon patients in Hospitals , all over

  *   Teaching students in Schools , in remote Africa

  *   Any job that currently requires immediate presence of a worker

And , if you set up a " Back Factory " , you don't need to pay Corporate Income Tax for next 10 years !

When this happens ,

·           Millions of skilled Indian workers will operate factories around the World ,

sitting in , internet connected " Back Factories " in small Indian towns

·          " Contract Labour Act " will need to be replaced with " Back Factory Act

·          " Minimum Wages Act " will need to be scrapped !

·            India will not need to fight with WTO on " Manpower / Service Exports "

Dear Shri Narendrabhai,

This is the ONLY WAY , we can create 12 million “ SELF  EMPLOYED “ every year

If you fail to announce “ BACK FACTORY ACT “ in Feb 2019 budget , you may not get a chance to do so in Feb 2020 budget  !

Making Water from Air ?

David and his wife Laura Doss-Hertz just won

XPrize for Water Abundance

=====================

Highlights :

They prevailed by developing a system that uses shipping containers, wood chips and other detritus to produce as much as 528 gallons ( 2,000 liters ) of water a day at a cost of no more than 2 cents a quart (1 liter).

They settled on creating little rainstorms inside shipping containers by heating up wood chips to produce the temperature and humidity needed to draw water from the air and the wood itself.

And if you don’t have wood chips to heat them with, coconut husks, rice, walnut shells, grass clippings or just about any other such waste product will do just fine

Certainly in regions where you have a lot of  biomass  this is going to be a very simple technology to deploy,” said Matthew Stuber, a professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering at the University of Connecticut and expert on water systems who was one of the panel’s judges.

He called their water-making machine a “really cool” merging of rather simple technologies that can be used to quickly deliver water to regions hit by natural disasters, stricken by drought or even rural areas with a shortage of clean water.

Now , every year, Punjab and Haryana are blamed for rising air pollution and smog caused by crop residue burning by growers.

The two states annually generate 220 lakh tonne and 65 lakh tonne of paddy stubble, respectively.

I urge PM – Science, Technology and Innovation Advisory Council , to call up David Hertz and get the detailed drawings / process from him for manufacture of these devices in India under a Licensing Agreement

And I urge Captain Amrinder Singhji to get these devices manufactured by very clever craftsmen of Punjab and give these away ( FREE of course ) to each and every GRAM PANCHAYAT

If done , Punjab farmers will get clean drinking water in return for their stubble !

And in the process, Delhi will get spared of the smog !

Shri Arvind Kejriwalji may consider contributing to this project !

Every Building : a Battery Charging Station ?

I suggested this in my following blogs :

PIYUSH PLAN ?     [ 27  March  2016  ]

“ Who knows , some owners of electric cars may even install one in their garage to serve dual purpose ( improve health + charge the car ). No doubt , a higher capacity version !

And , may be all GYMS around the country will install one !

  All Charged Up  ?   [  15 Aug 2016  ] ,

what  is  the   break-through  needed  ?

#   A " LOW COST " Charging Station that can fully charge an electric car in " 5 MINUTES " - and at " HOME " !

( or , at the most , in the  Cooperative Housing Society , where you live )

 Manoj Bhargava  ( Free Electric  /  BillionsinChange.com )

I am sure , given a challenge , he will come up with  higher capacity Electric Power Generating Bicycles which
can charge  StoreDot's  FlashBattery , which , in turn will charge the electric cars at night , parked in the
compound of a Cooperative Housing Society

Health-conscious Members of the Society , will be , more than happy to " pedal " such bicycles , housed in the
common Gym of the Society , after returning from office !

What's more , each Member's " One Hour of      Pedaling " will earn him , one car recharge of 5 MINUTES !

Besides providing a " vastly economic ( free ? ) " car recharging solution , this will improve the health !

More than one Solution   [  28  April  2017  ],

EACH HOME – A CHARGING STATION

Do not rule out Manoj Bhargava ( BillionsinChange ) coming out with his next generation ( V 2.0 ) electricity generating bicycle to be able to re-charge such small / quickly rechargeable batteries , right in your garage or housing society compound !

      PEDAL YOUR WAY TO HEALTH

As a part of a strategy to generate additional revenues , expect GYM owners to install BillionsinChange bicycles replacing regular tread-mills – allowing any stranger ( not a regular customer ) to generate electricity while improving their health !  without paying fees / subscription !

Dear Shri Hardeep Singh Puriji .

From the following news report , I understand that you plan to implement this suggestion :

E-car charging stations could soon become mandatory in your residential building

The government proposes to amend building by-laws to make it mandatory to set up electric vehicle charging stations in residential and commercial buildings and parking lots.

The proposals include ,

·     offering round the-clock charging infrastructure facility to all electric vehicles in residential buildings,

·     setting up charging bays at 20% capacity of all vehicles,

·     on-spot metering and payment services in both commercial and residential buildings

Dear Shri Puriji,

There is no news that Manoj Bhargava ( BillionsInChange ) has any plans to come up with a high capacity Electricity Generating bicycle that can charge a Store Dot battery

Therefore I urge you to consider use of roof top mounted SOLAR PANELS for charging these batteries

Of course , such a set up would require Battery Storage  Devices , so that residents may charge their Electric Cars at night , from a charging outlet in their garages ( many city municipalities have already made it mandatory that new buildings must provide sufficient parking garages for all the residents )

Context :

The new charging station is part of the ‘ Smart Solar Charging ’ project by LomboXnet and several other local partners in Utrecht.

It is equipped with 20 charging points connected to a 200-panel solar array and a 400kW/800kWh Tesla Powerpack battery system.

During the day, electric vehicles can charge on sunlight and the excess solar power is stored in Tesla’s battery packs, which is also connected to the grid, if there aren’t enough EVs charging.

After the sun goes down, the Powerpack can feed the solar power back to the charging station.

Details at :

Dear Shri Puriji,

Your idea is even better  !

Why have road-side EV battery charging stations , where EVs have to queue up for 3 hours (time those Electric Cars supplied to EESL by TATA and M&M need for a full charge ) ?

Hardly any city car travels more than 80 km per day.  One overnight charge in one’s own garage is more than sufficient !

So , why not make a beginning of your proposal , with those millions of buildings being built all over India, under PM Awas Yojana ?  Make it mandatory for these to have a Roof Top Solar based Battery Charging Installation

Through your “ Out of the Box “ thinking , you will succeed in breaking the VICIOUS CIRCLE of :

·     Buyers don’t want to buy Electric Vehicles because there is no Battery Charging Infrastructure

·     Manufacturers will not make Electric Cars if there are no buyers

·     No one wants to invest lakhs of rupees in setting up a Battery Charging Station if only 2 cars turn up for charging during entire day !

And , instead of subsidizing buyers of Electric Cars with Rs 130,000 , why not give this subsidy to the HOUSE BUILDER , for each “ Battery Charging Garage “ ?

 [  Caution : Only if Solar Powered  !  ]

Surely , since the power consumed ( by each garage ) will be metered , Cooperative Society ( or owner of the flat / building ) , will have no difficulty in recovering the initial investment over 3 / 5 years , even if the tenant / member sells the flat

Currently , State Governments are giving a subsidy of 30 % ( of the Capital Cost ) for Roof Top Solar Power projects , either to an owner or to a Cooperative Housing Society

As an alternative ( to Rs 1.3 lakh per electrified garage ) , this Roof Top Solar subsidy could be made 100 % for those who also incorporate Battery Charging Installations
