A Beerud named BHIM ?

“ Beerud “ means an “ Honorary Title “ [ such as “ Bharat Ratna “ ], which our President confers upon persons who have rendered outstanding service to the nation

Now we don’t have a “ Beerud “ called BHIM ( - although there are ARJUN awards for outstanding sports persons )

But if there was one , it could be conferred upon the person who implements mobile wallet app called BHIM V 4.0 !

And that person could well be BEERUD SHETH

Because , he could enable our BHIM TEAM to launch BHIM V 4.0 , which only requires “ Speaking “ into a Smart phone . No entering Aadhar Number or Amount to be paid !

In my earlier blog ( sent as email to NDA Ministers ) “ Googlecan read your Mind

I had written on 09 Dec 2016 :

“ Besides Google , I hope members of the Chief Ministers' Committee appointed to

advise the government on DIGITAL PAYMENTS , will read this email  - then call

up Beerud Sheth on, +1-855-982-2997  “

I hope Shri Ravi Shankar Prasadji reads following news report ( DNA /18 April 2018 ) :

US-based bot platform Gupshup on Monday launched InterBot, a bot-to-bot communication platform to enable them transact, co-ordinate, compete, collaborate and negotiate with each other.

Touted as the world's first, InterBot communications ,

enable different kinds of bots, such as shopping bots to negotiate with merchant bots to find the best prices.

A travel bot can book packages by combining the services of flight and hotel bots.

A taxi bot can ask the café bot to have the coffee ready by the time the user's taxi arrives.

Gaming bots can play strategy games with dealer bots.

Translate bots can combine with e-commerce bot to enable multi-lingual transactions.

Personal assistant bots can schedule meetings on behalf of humans.

Bots can form groups and hierarchies to improve decision-making within the enterprise.

"InterBot unleashes endless possibilities that lead to more intelligent bots and systems.

Just as the human civilization harnesses the collective power of individual humans, InterBot enables bots to perform collective action dramatically amplifying individual bot capabilities.

InterBot represents one small step for bot, one giant step for 'botkind',"  Beerud Sheth, CEO of Gupshup, said in a statement.

To use InterBot, bots will first have to publish themselves on this new channel.

These bots can exchange services and learn from each other.

Developers can now create bots simply by connecting them with each other, like Lego blocks, where the output of one bot becomes the input of the next.

Coal Story : Missing Points

Writing in Times of India ( 16 April 2017 / Dark Side of solar success ) , Shri Swaminathan A Aiyar makes following :

POINTS :

·         The plant load factor ( PLF ) of coal based power plants was 76 % six years ago , but is now just 58 %

·         At today’s PLF of 58 % , many coal based power plants are in trouble

·         If average PLF falls below 48 % ( as is likely if Solar capacity soars to 40 GW by 2020 ), then many coal based projects will go bust

·         High interest costs ( on borrowed capital ) can kill projects when the PLF falls

·         Around 65 GW of NEW thermal power plants are already in pipeline

·         PLF collapse could bankrupt many projects , hugely burdening lenders.

·         Many banks are already staggering under enormous bad debts and now face the threat of fresh avalanche

·         The notion that solar power has become cheaper than coal-based power is an illusion ( though, hopefully it will become reality if costs keep falling )

·         Power storage based on conventional batteries is very expensive. Hopefully new technologies will cut the cost , but none are in sight yet

·         Solar costs are falling fast, The slower we go, the more solar costs will fall. So speed is not a virtue

·         India must plan to match total power supply with decelerating demand, and aim for a solar-thermal mix that avoids huge idle capacities

MISSING  POINTS :

·         Coal requires “ auctioning / licensing / mining / washing / transporting / storing “ – all of which are expensive / time-consuming processes .

Coal prices keep rising whereas sunlight cost remains ZERO for ever !

·         Sunlight gets delivered directly on every roof-top Solar panel , FREE of cost and 300 days in a year !

·         Our 196 GW thermal power plants produced 805.4 million tons of CO2 in 2015.

     Solar Power produces NIL !

·         Particulate matter emanating from Coal-based power plants is causing 6 LAKH premature deaths in India, EACH YEAR !

Solar Panels do NOT produce any particulate matter

·         Thermal power plants consume almost 88 % of the water consumed by ALL industries put together

Solar Panels need VERY LITTLE water , for occasional washing

·         If our current fleet of 200 MILLION petrol / diesel vehicles were to get replaced with Electric Vehicles ( government target is 2030 ), that will require a huge amount of electric power ( for battery charging stations )

If that power comes from Coal-based plants , CO2 emission levels and particulate matters , will get WORSE ! That power has to come from Solar !

·         As far as storing of Solar Power ( generated during the day ) is concerned, TESLA has made tremendous progress with its POWERPACK batteries and even offered the Australian Government to install a 100 MW storage facility , within 100 days !

Water Water Everywhere ? Even in Latur ?

( aka “ How to avoid Water Wars next month ? “ )

·         And without sending from Mumbai to Latur , a “ Water Train “ twice a day ?

·         Absolutely  FREE ? ( free of cost and free of Water-Mafia ! )

·         Without women of Latur , having to walk 5 km in 42* C temperature for one bucket ?

·         All of this is possible if Maharashtra Chief Minister , Shri Devendra Fadnavisji , just picks up phone and dials Prof Omar Yaghi ( University of California , Berkeley / yaghi@berkeley.edu / oyaghi@lbl.gov / Ph : 510-643-5507 )

·         After reading the following report , if he does not , it would deeply distress millions of drought-affected Maharashtrians !

Dear Prof Yaghi :

Congratulations for your invention which deserves better than a Nobel Prize

A billion " Thank You " from a billion people is not enough !

·         Even if you do not get that phone call , in the “ Supreme Court of your Conscience “, treat this appeal as a “ Public Interest Litigation “ and make available to the Citizens of India, your technology / patent / manufacturing drawings / material specifications etc , in order to save thousands of lives !

REPORT :

·         A device that can create water out of thin air in even arid environments has been invented that could make Coleridge’s famous line “Water, water, everywhere, Nor any drop to drink” a thing of the past.

·         Using only the power of the sun and a special material with some extraordinary properties, the device is capable of producing 2.8 litres of water in 12 hours.

·         And it can work in conditions where humidity is as low as 20 per cent.

·         Professor Omar Yaghi, who helped create the prototype water harvester, said: “We wanted to demonstrate that if you are cut off somewhere in the desert, you could survive because of this device.

·         A person needs about a [ 330ml ] can of water per day. That is something one could collect in less than an hour with this system.

·         This is a major breakthrough in the long-standing challenge of harvesting water from the air at low humidity.

·         “There is no other way to do that right now, except by using extra energy. Your electric dehumidifier at home ‘produces’ very expensive water.”

·         But, as well as saving people stranded in a desert, the harvester could become a major part of everyday life, enabling people to have water without a connection to the public supply or a well.

·         “One vision for the future is to have water off-grid, where you have a device at home running on ambient solar for delivering water that satisfies the needs of a household,” said Professor Yaghi, a chemist at University of California, Berkeley.

·         { My Note : Just like the Roof Top Solar Power panels which may, someday eliminate the need for an Electric Power Grid ?  }

·         “To me, that will be made possible because of this experiment. I call it personalised water.”

Dear “ Bottled Water Manufacturers “ of India :

It is time you asked ( ala Ted Levitt in his seminal essay “ Marketing Myopia “ ) :

“ What business are we in ? Are we in the business of “ Bottling Water “ or are we in the business of “ WATER “ ?

Time to “ re-invent “ yourselves is just around the corner !

With “ Edible Water Balls “ replacing plastic bottles ?

Here is what start-up “ Skipping Rocks Labs “ writes on its web site :

Our goal :

To create a waste-free alternative to plastic bottles / cups / plates / you name it

Our vision :

To become the leading global producer of seaweed-based packaging

Our impact :

o    To stop 1 BILLION plastic bottles reaching the ocean every year and to stop 300 million Kg of CO2 from being emitted
