ARIHANT  :  the  Destroyer  of  Enemy

In Sanskrit language , Arihant means just that ,

Ari  =  Enemy  [  अरी  ]

Hant  =  Destroyer  [   हंत  ]

#    When I first proposed ARIHANT , one year ago , what I had in mind was creation of
a “ database of human intentions “ through aggregation of all the “ spoken words
uttered by the entire human race , through a Mobile App ( assuming everyone used
      a smart phone )

#   All these spoken words ( conversations ) , will be transmitted to a CENTRAL

DATABASE called , MIND READER  Of  HUMAN  INTENTIONS

#  There , the BIG DATA ANALYTICS / AI , will interpret those " Intentions " and alert

authorities for any EVIL INTENTIONS ( those that break the 3 LAWS Of ROBOTICS ,

    formulated by Isaac Asimov )

But , in the last one year, there has been tremendous advance in :

·         Artificial Intelligence

·         Brain Computer Interface

Using headsets and mapping brain-waves to specific “ emotions / sentiments “ , scientists are now able to “ read our thoughts “ !

Before long , expect those bulky headsets , with electrodes attached to forehead / scalp , which pick-up the brainwaves , to be replaced by :

·         Glasses ( spectacles )

·         Wrist-bands / Rings  /  Necklaces

·         Mobile phones

·         Tatto patches

·         Clothes  /  anything wearable …etc

No need for a smart phone to listen into our “ spoken words “ !

Simply any IoT – enabled device , listening into our innermost “ Un-spoken Thoughts “ !

Or IoT-enabled microbots , roaming in the brain of a “ Good Thinker “  and measuring / transmitting the neural activity to the brain of a nearby “ Bad Thinker

That advance heralds the birth of ARIHANT  V 2.0 !

No more just finding out , who is harbouring “ Evil Thoughts “ and then directing a human police to catch the “ Evil Thinker “ , even before he can translate his evil thoughts into some “ Evil Action “ ( - as in case of movie “ MATRIX “ )

V 2.0 will neutralize those “ Evil Thoughts “ of the “ Evil Thinkers “ and replace those with “ Benevolent / Positive Thoughts “  !

Here is how that could happen :

In Electrical Engineering , we learned about “ Induced Current

In a wire , which is rotated in a magnetic field , a current starts flowing

In much the same way , when a person thinking “ Good Thoughts “ walks by another thinking of “ Evil Thoughts “ , those evil thoughts will get neutralized and get replace with “ Good Thoughts “ !

Fortunately , in any crowd ( - equivalent to a magnetic field ) , persons thinking “ Good Thoughts “ outnumber the persons thinking “ Bad Thoughts “ ( - except in a meeting of terrorists )

But , even a terrorists has to mingle with “ Good Thought Thinkers “ , before he can do much harm

QUESTION :

In a wire current disappears when it is moved out from a magnetic field

Will AI scientists find a way whereby the neutralized “ Bad Thoughts “ never return and those proximity-induced “ Good Thoughts “ persist for ever ?

I hope Stephen Hawkings / Elon Musk / Ray Kurzweil / Mark Zuckerberg etc will stop arguing and create ARIHANT V 2.0

#Umang : My Suggestion Implemented

DNA ( 24 Nov 2017 ) carries following news :

“ One app for all citizen services “

PM Modi launches UMANG – a single platform for accessing around 200 govt services

PM Modi said during inaugural session of GCCS ,

“ We launched the UMANG Mobile App which will provide over a hundred citizen-centric services

At the back-end, these services will be catered by many different departments of the Union and State governments

This integrated approach will add an automatic layer of ‘ peer performance pressure ‘ in the working of these departments “

This is one more example of “ a government that invites suggestions from ordinary citizens , listens to those suggestions and implements the same , if found to improve governance “

Four years ago ( on 18 Aug 2013 ) , I sent my following suggestion to leaders of major Political Parties , which were engaged in National Election campaign :

I  SIN  >  <  U  SIN  [ short for :  I  SEEK  IT  NOW  >  <  U  SOLVE  IT  NOW  ]

The last sentence of this blog read :

I have no doubt that the political party which promises , “ I SIN >< U SIN “ ,  will get voted to power in 2014

Then I found this reflected in BJP’s Poll Manifesto ( 26 March 2014   ) , as follows :

=================================

#    BJP has been known for good Governance and e-Governance will become the      backbone for good Governance. BJP aims to nurture a Digital India - making every household and every individual digitally empowered

Information Technology has made it possible to make information and services reach to the ordinary men and women even in remote areas, easily and effectively.

Availability of information is the key to empowerment of the stakeholders. This also reduces the scope for discretion and manipulation

#  Leverage technology for e-Governance and engage proactively with the people through social media for participative governance and effective public grievance redressal mechanism.

It is a matter of personal satisfaction that  I  SIN  >  <  U  SIN , was named UMANG and launched at the hands of Shri Modi , yesterday

But UMANG is a “ Work in Progress “ and has a long way to go  !

Eg :

·         When I searched for the following “Search Terms“ UMANG returned 0 results“:

National Commission for Women / Garbage Clearance / Road Repair / Rationing ( Food Distribution ) / Bus Transport / Railways / Irrigation / Building Permits / Revenue – Land Records / Anti-Corruption / Municipality

When I searched for  “ Water Supply “ or “ Electric Supply “ or “ Post “ , I got as result,  “ Bharat BillPay  “ !

When I searched for “ Police “ , I got  only “ CRPF “  !

·         I could not find any FEEDBACK  MECHANISM , of the following kind , suggested in I  SIN  >  <  U  SIN :
=================================

“   Touching name of any department name will open a SMS message box where the user will type out his complaint ( in a language of his choice )

There will be option to speak-out and record voice message , for illiterate users

Touching SEND button will transmit the complaint and within minutes, user will receive SMS reply , giving :

·                     Name of Officer responsible

·                     Office Landline No

·                     Mobile No

·                     Email Id

·                     Complaint No

·                     Expected date of solving

Bingo !

Then publish online , a tabulation of departments , arranged in the descending order of the no of complaints received / cleared / pending!

If these “ improvements “ get incorporated in UMANG real fast , I have no doubt that BJP will return to Lok Sabha in 2019 , with an ABSOLUTE MAJORITY  !

ISRO : the EV Game-Changer

Times of India ( 22 Nov ) carries following news :

“ ISRO plan :  Rocket that can be made in 3 days  “

In a development that will revolutionalise the satellite launch system in the country, Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) is developing a small launch vehicle that can be assembled in just three days as compared to 30-40 days for a normal-sized PSLV and can be built at a cost which will be just one-tenth the original manufacturing cost of a PSLV.

The manufacturing cost of a launch vehicle is generally in the range of Rs 150 crore to Rs 500 crore across the world.

Dr K Sivan, director of Thiruvananthapuram-based Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC),on the side-lines of an international seminar on ‘Indian Space Programme’ told TOI,

“ ISRO is busy developing a small launch vehicle which is likely to be ready for launch probably by 2018 end or early-2019.

The cost of this vehicle will get drastically reduced by one-tenth of the manufacturing cost of a normal PSLV. However, this rocket will have the total payload capacity of 500 to 700 kg and can launch satellites only up to the polar sun-synchronous orbit or near-earth orbit (500-700 km in altitude).”

“The weight of this mini-PSLV will be just 100 tonnes as compared to 300 tonnes of the normal-sized launch vehicle,” Dr Sivan said.

The “cost-effective” vehicle programme is in line with ISRO chairman A S Kiran Kumar’s recent statement that the space agency has been striving to “reduce the cost of access of space” and so that more and more of space technologies can be used for the benefit of the common man.

Explaining the advantage of such a small vehicle, Dr K Sivan said, The ‘cost-effective’ mini-PSLV programme is in line with ISRO chairman A S Kiran Kumar’s recent statement that the space agency has been striving to ‘reduce the cost of access to space’

“The amount of money used in building a normal-size PSLV rocket can actually be used to manufacture multiple numbers of such mini-PSLVs, which, in turn, can launch several satellites. So, ISRO will be able to launch several satellites with less money.”

Like a normal PSLV, the VSSC director said, “Such small vehicles will too be capable of launching multiple nano satellites.”

The Indian space agency has started working on the idea of building this small rocket keeping in mind the emerging market of micro or nano satellites.

Now , ask yourself :

If

ISRO can bring down the cost of a launch vehicle by 90 % , can it do the same for Lithium-ion Battery required for an Electric Car – both , in terms of SIZE and PRICE ?

And ,

develop Solar Panel Roof for that EV to charge that MINI BATTERY of 5 Kwh ?

And ,

that battery costing $ 500 ( $100 / kwh*5 Kwh ) = Rs 35,000 ONLY !

Consider the following :

·         Li-ion Battery prices have been dropping as follows :

#   2010  ………….. $ 1000 / kwh

#   2016  …

……….  $   227 / kwh ( TESLA claims $ 190 / kwh )

#   2020 ( Est )…. $   190 / kwh  ( TESLA claims $ 100 / kwh )

#   2030 ( Est )…. $   100 / kwh

·         TESLA Model 3 ( selling for $ 35,000 ) is rumoured to have a 50 Kwh battery

·         At $ 190 / Kwh , it might cost , $ 9,500 ( $ 195*50kwh ) ( Rs 6.65 Lakh )

·         This battery is produced in TESLA’s GigaFactory ( 35 Gwh ) costing $ 5 billion

·         In India , Adani / Reliance / JSW / M&M / Suzuki etc are planning to put up Li-ion Battery plant(Reliance plant with 25Gwh capacity estimated to cost $ 3.5 Billion )

And , if there is any doubt that ISRO technology will force the afore-mentioned Companies to re-look at their plans, listen to what Industry Ministry , Shri Anant Geete says :

Elaborating on the plans to develop low-cost lithium-ion batteries in India, Union heavy industry minister Anant Geete said,

“ EFFORTS ARE BEING MADE TO REMODEL THE BATTERY MADE BY INDIAN SPACE RESEARCH ORGANISATION SO THAT IT CAN BE USED IN ELECTRIC VEHICLES.

References :

Now imagine this :

·         ISRO designed 5 Kwh battery costing “ one tenth “ the cost of TESLA’s 50 Kwh battery costing Rs 6.65 lakhs ( ie just Rs 66,500 )

·         This reduction of nearly Rs 6 lakhs in Battery cost , in turn , reducing the selling price of a 4 seater EV, by Rs 6 lakhs ( from Rs 10 lakhs for EV or Petrol version )

·         Such a 4 seater EV ( whose 5 Kwh Li-ion battery gets powered by Solar Roof Top already designed by ISRO ) , selling for Rs 4 lakh ( on the road ? )

This may seem far-fetched to those who doubt ISRO’s expertise / competence

But I am a believer !
