Hidden Message from PM : Let Gaming Bloom

In the following news report , PM says :

There should be no regulation on online Gaming . Let it bloom unhindered

He is quoted as below :

"There are two things -- either you try to impose restrictions under a law or try to understand and mould it based on our country's needs and bring it under an organised and legal structure and uplift its reputation," the prime minister said.

"My attempt is to uplift the nation to a level that by 2047 the government is out of the lives of middle-class families in particular. Our life is stuck in paperwork. It is the poor who need the government, the government should be there with them in difficult times," he added.

To this, Modi replied, "It (e-sports and gaming) does not require any regulation.
It must remain free, only then it will boom."

During the interaction, Modi said, "People have offered different solutions. I have an alternative solution called Mission LIFE which advocates for
changing our daily lifestyle to benefit the environment."

"Now, envision a
game aimed at addressing global climate issues where the gamer must explore various methods and solutions to identify the most sustainable approach. What are these steps? How do we navigate through it and choose the best approach for success?

"Take swachhata as an example. The game theme could revolve around cleanliness and every child should play this game. Youngsters should embrace Indian values and understand their true significance," the prime minister said.

My Take :

I have, myself, never looked through a AR / VR glasses but I believe using these will be the surest and quickest way to “ impart skills “ to millions of our unemployed youth

And “ Gaming “ is essentially a USE-CASE for this technology, in the domain of “ Entertainment “ . It is the first step which today’s children take without any difficulty – although, currently on their Smart phones

Those millions who become proficient with the use of AR / VR headsets today , will take to “ Skilling “ tomorrow , like fish takes to water !

Using AR/VR headsets , they will acquire the SKILLS of :

Ø  Welding

Ø  Machining

Ø  Farming

Ø  Drawing

Ø  Electrician

Ø  Carpenter

Ø  Mason

Ø  Fabricator ……and a thousand other Skills ( - all courses delivered over the internet )

All of these, without needing physical infrastructure of   100,000   ITI  ( Industrial Training Institutes ), which would cost billions of rupees to set-up / equip / run with trained teachers , and take DECADES to set up

Precisely for this “ Infra-less Ease of Imparting Skills “ that I have sent following e-mails to our Cabinet Ministers

Ø  Some of these may be VR based training, requiring VR headsets ( to be provided FREE to MSME by this Ministry ) . These can be used not only by the apprentices but also by the MSME’s own workers

Ø  Enable the unemployed youth ( 12 million / year ) to acquire online training from their homes , using government-gifted VR headsets [ much cheaper than granting Unemployment Allowance of Rs 3000 pm ( Rajasthan ) / Rs 1000 ( Andhra ) / many other States )

Ø  Subsidize Start Ups ( operating in the field of online Education ) to develop VR based training Modules

Ø  Now imagine this :

             #  Government gives away ( FREE ) , AR/VR headsets , each costing Rs

                 5,000 , to ONE crore ( 10 million ) youth , each year . That is a

recurring cost of Rs 5,000 crore per year

              #  By spending just Rs 5,000 per year ( per unemployed youth ) as

against Rs 72,000 per family ,  you will enable that youth to start

                  earning Rs 20,000 / month ( by getting a job / freelancing ) and

                  pull himself out of poverty

Ø  National Skills University : Virtual is the only way ………… 03 Apr 2021

Extract :

Ø  University will approach all Internet Service Providers for giving FREE bandwidth to Users for downloading content or for streaming ONLINE AR / VR instructions

Ø  University will approach AR / VR headset manufacturers ( such as Occulus – Facebook – Apple – Google – Microsoft – IBM etc ), to develop very light weight and cheap ( Rs 5,000 ) glasses for REGISTERD users of Skills University ( Central Govt may consider subsidizing such glasses to REGISTERED users ONLY )
