Shape of Things to Come ?
Ø GOI will come out
with a tender for 5
million Aakash Tablets by end of this month
Ø All the tablets
will have to be supplied by Dec
2013
Ø The UPA hopes to
woo young voters and their families with this scheme before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections
Ø Almost 600,000 tablets need to
be delivered EACH month, between April-Dec 2013, by multiple vendors
This
tender will possibly witness :
·
Some
mergers & acquisitions
amongst tablet manufacturers
·
Emergence
of “ Consortiums of
Manufacturers “
·
Jumping
into fray by some leading Indian
Smart phone manufacturers ( since they might be better placed to
re-configure their smart phone assembly lines to assemble tablets )
·
Setting
up of local assembly lines by leading foreign manufacturers ( who have their eyes glued to the
expected tender for 400 million smart phones
that GOI wants to distribute free to “ Poor “ Aadhar card holders )
This
is going to be a “ Mother
of all Battles “ which will decide the contours of India’s mobile
devices industry
With
regards,

GOING THE PIGS WAY ?
Where PIGS stands for
Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain
Is India too going
PIGS way to financial bankruptcy ?
It is very likely , if
we keep on ,
· Rejecting financial reforms
· Living beyond our means
· Spending more than what we earn
· Borrowing from the World
· Printing currency notes
· Sacrificing tomorrow for today’s sake
PIGS countries did
precisely this – and for years
Now , they have no one
to bail them out !
Germany / France /
European Central Bank are dictating them to,
· Eat / drink / wear less ( preferably, live on air )
· Work longer hours on lesser salaries
· Give up pension benefits
· Retire late
· Sell their infrastructure to China
· Support their 25 year old jobless children
· Get their National Budgets pre-approved by ECB
If UPA-2 rolls back
price rise in diesel / LPG and withdraw FDI in retail , we too , will go the
PIGS way !
Sure, UPA-2 government
should go , but not for economic reforms
It must be thrown out
for Coal-gate , 2G , CWG , endless scams

BELIEVE IT OR NOT!
As reported in DNA [Sept.
04, 2012], here are the findings of a study conducted by,
- Centre for International Higher Education ( Boston )
- The Higher School of Economics ( Moscow )
on
- Salaries earned by teachers at Asst Professor level
- In Government and Aided Educational Institutions
- On Purchase Price Parity ( PPP ) basis
- In following countries :
- India………………………………………………….. $ 3,954
- China…………………………………………………..$ 259
- Russia………………………………………………… $ 433
- Brazil……………………………………………………$ 1,859
- USA……………………………………………………..$ 4,950
- Canada………………………………………………. $ 5,733
So , Coal-gate not
withstanding , India does seem to be shining , at least on Government owned /
assisted College-gates !
And since 90 % of “
Private / Non-Aided “ colleges are “ allotted “ to politicians , I wonder how
do these figures compare in these “ College-Blocks “ , which continue to
collect from each admitted student , millions of rupees by way of “ Donations /
Capitation Fees “
Who is worried about cancellation
of allotment of “Coal-blocks “ !

Reaching for Aakash ?
Yes , Mr Prime Minister
You can deliver on your promises , by distributing Aakash2 tablets ( being developed by IIT- Bombay ) to 20 Crore Indians who have registered for Aadhar Identification so far
In your Independence Day speech , you made following promises – all of which can come true by employing latest software / apps , specified by IIT-B
Before distributing Aakash2 to 20 Crore Aadhar Card-Holders , just ensure that these tablets are integrated / pre-installed with :
“ Aadhar Identification Number “ of Nandan Nilekani
To fulfill your promise :
“ It will be our endeavour to ensure that all households benefit from bank accounts in the next 2 years. “
“ Mobile Wallet “ app of Sam Pitroda
To fulfill your promise :
“ We want to create a system in which money from Government schemes – pension for old people, scholarship for students and wages for labourers – can be credited directly into people’s bank accounts. This would reduce inconvenience to the beneficiaries, make it easy for them to receive payment and increase transparency. For this work, we will take help from the Aadhar scheme under which about 20 crore people have been registered so far. “
“ Educational Apps “ of Kapil Sibal ( installed on Aakash2 )
To fulfill your promise :
“ Now we will focus on improving the quality of education. In the next few months we will put in place a system of continuous assessment of the benefit our children are getting from teaching.
We want to create many new job opportunities for our youth in the coming years. To achieve this it is necessary that we train them in skills which our economy needs. It is our endeavour to put in place a system in which training facilities are available in many new skills.
“ My Jobs “ app [ freely downloadable from Google Play ]
To fulfill your promise :
“ I promise that we will work hard for creation of new employment opportunities for our young men and women living in villages and cities “
Mr Prime Minister ,
You have less than 18 months to fulfill your promises before 2014 National Elections
There is no time to waste !
And the best part is :
No need to pass a bill in the Parliament . No need to worry about “ Coalition Dharma “ !
