• Risk capital

This is a transformative step for India’s manufacturing future.

My Earlier Aligned Initiative (2017): EmpowerMSME

More than eight years ago, with support from Shri Anil Naik (then Chairman, L&T),

 I created and tested a portal called EmpowerMSME — built on the same

 fundamental question that DPIIT is addressing today:

“How can 5,000 large Indian companies transfer their

 

accumulated knowledge to 65 million MSMEs, so that these

 

MSMEs can grow faster, reduce errors, and scale sustainably?”

 

My conclusion was straightforward:

Corporate knowledge lives inside thousands of documents and templates

 that MSMEs do not have access to.

For example:

• Delivery Challans

• Invoices

• Sales Orders

• Stores Credit Notes

• Cash Memos

• Kardex Cards

• HR Offer Letters

If large companies upload their non-confidential formats to a central public

 portal, MSMEs across India can instantly:

• adopt best-practice formats,

• reduce documentation mistakes,

• improve compliance,

• boost productivity, and

• strengthen quality systems.

This is exactly the kind of plug-and-play empowerment that incubators strive to

 provide.

A Personal Note

In 1945, as a child, I had the privilege of attending Mahatma Gandhiji’s evening

 prayer meeting at Birla House in Mumbai.

One bhajan from that day — “Vaishnav Jan To…” — has stayed with me for 80
