Hi Friends,

Even as I launch this today ( my 80th Birthday ), I realize that there is yet so much to say and do. There is just no time to look back, no time to wonder,"Will anyone read these pages?"

NPST : National Professional Standards for Teachers

NPST : National Professional Standards for Teachers

Context :

NCTE organises 2-day national workshop for teacher education, aimed at achieving the vision of NEP 2020  ..  ET .. 15 Sept 2024

Extract :

NPST, as envisioned in Para 5.20 of NEP 2020, aims to enhance the professional development of teachers by providing clear expectations and guidelines for competency-wise improvement.

Kesang Y. Sherpa IRS, Member Secretary NCTE [ helpdesk@ncte-india.org ]

shared the roadmap of the workshop clarifying the goals and objectives of the workshop. She also emphasized that the assessment of the performance of teachers will be done through dedicated tools, peer reviews, etc. developed by NCTE.

Dear Teachers :

I have no idea as to the type of  “ dedicated tools “ that Smt Kesang Sherpa has in mind for assessing your performance

Nor do you

But it would be wise for you not to wait till such time these tools get designed and handed to your Principals

Without waiting , hundreds of teachers around the country have started impressing their Principals by marked improvement in the “ marks / score “ obtained by their students ( a true measure of their own COMPETANCY )

They are just :

Ø  Visiting www.My-Teacher.in

Ø  Selecting >  I am a Teacher

Ø  Generate Test

-       and improving their NPST [ National Professional Standard for Teachers ]

By administering such impromptu / surprise exams ( without any notice ), they are telling their students :

Ø  When you are ready to face an exam , on ANY DAY of the year – and without prior notice ,  I will know that you have listened to my teachings and learned well

Ø  You shall not mug-up and vomit what you have “ stored “ in your brain ( like stored in a hard disk )

Ø  You must cultivate / train your mind to be INQUISITIVE and ask “ Questions Beyond Syllabus

Dear Teachers :

How about improving your own “ Subject Knowledge “ by taking some Mock Tests yourself ?

With regards,
