Rooftop Solar must get 100 % Subsidy

Govt looks to further relax solar power scheme credit process for households

Extract from the article:

In a move towards promoting solar energy adoption, the government is aiming to simplify the loan application process for rooftop solar installations through the PM Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana. The scheme, set to achieve 10 million installations by 2026-27, offers loans with a subsidized interest rate of 7% to eligible households.

Understanding the significance of making solar power more accessible to households by easing the financial burden through affordable financing mechanisms is crucial for achieving the country's renewable energy targets efficiently.

My Take:

Rooftop Solar Opportunity Lost

Reflecting on my past blog, where I proposed a solution for promoting rooftop solar installations without direct subsidies, the current government's initiative to offer subsidized loans aligns with the concept of providing financial assistance to encourage solar energy adoption. The idea of a "Roof-Top Green Solar Loan" could complement the ongoing efforts to streamline the credit process, making solar power more accessible to a broader segment of society.

Shri R.K. Singh - Revolutionary

In a previous article, I highlighted the need for enabling individual building owners and societies to install rooftop solar plants with the support of empanelled agencies. The current government's initiative to simplify loan processes for rooftop solar installations resonates with the idea of facilitating easy access to financing options. By empowering societies to repay loans through savings redirected from conventional grid power purchases or solar power generation, a sustainable model for promoting solar energy adoption at the grassroots level can be established.

Call to Action:

To the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and distribution companies (DISCOMs) involved in implementing solar power schemes for households, I urge you to continue innovating and simplifying processes to make renewable energy solutions more accessible to the public. By further enhancing the credit process and ensuring timely disbursement of loans, you can accelerate the adoption of solar power and contribute significantly to India's renewable energy goals.
