Enough to entice Elon ?

I don’t think so

Context :

TN government rolls out 100 % tax exemption for e-vehicles

Extract :

    The government said that after careful examination it has decided to grant a full tax exemption for all BOVs.

         All BOVs, both transport and non-transport (EVs), are exempted from

         payment of motor vehicle tax

Ø          Last year, it launched a separate policy for EVs, paving the way for fresh                investments by several players into EV manufacturing and associated areas

Ø  In March 2020, the State government announced it would also plan a futuristic EV charging station using solar power at a government campus

Ø  Delhi has announced an exemption of road tax on all EVs or BOVs while States like Telangana, which recently announced a new EV policy, offer 100 per cent exemption in road tax and registration fees for early adopters in different EV segments

===================================================

Without doubt, Rohan Patel ( Senior Global Director – Public Policy and Business Development – TESLA ) would have carefully studied :

EV-Ready India ( Part 1 : Value Chain Analysis of State EV Policies ) / WEF / Oct 2019

( Andhra – Bihar – Delhi – Karnataka – Kerala – Maharashtra – Tamil Nadu – Telangana – Uttarakhand – Uttar Pradesh )

And then concluded :

Not enough !

What would entice Elon to come to India ?

Here is what I think would entice Elon Musk to set up his next Terrafactory ( Gigafactory x 1,000 ) in India ( after Berlin – Texas – Shanghai ) :

[ A ]….    Lower Cost of Steel

[ B ]….    Lower cost of Electric Power

[ C  ]  … Lower cost of Finance

[ D ] ….  Lower cost of Supply Chain of components

[ E ]  ….  Lower cost of Sea-Freight ( for Imports-Exports )

[ F ] …..  Lower On-road Sale Price through various incentives

( details : https://myblogepage.blogspot.com/2020/10/fastest-finger-first.html  )

===================================================

Why would these incentives entice Elon ?

Because these satisfy Tesla’s MASTER PLAN described below :

[ Source : Unbundling Elon Musk’s Tesla Masterplan For World Domination  /  Nov 2, 2020 ]

Extract :

The seven strategies at the core of Tesla’s masterplan—connectivity, electrification, autonomous, battery sustainability, data business model, new mobility and organizational structuring— would appear standard pre-requisites for any self-respecting automotive manufacturer.

What’s different is how Musk has approached them as part of his larger global vision.

===================================================

How can India help Elon achieveWorld Domination “ ?

By enabling Elon to export from India all over the world Model 3 , for $ 10,000 / - ( approx.. Rs 7.3 lakh ) – which is possible if our Central Government rolls out a GREEN CARPET , which is more than $ 3,500 subsidy of China

In the process save 1.67 million Indians dying premature death due to air pollution

And if Elon can be persuaded to manufacture in India POWERWALL solar power Storage Device for Rs 5,000 / - and couple this with Solar Cooker ( government giving away FREE to 80 million LPG-LNG users ( under Ujwalla scheme ), that would save annual foreign exchange outflow of Rs 70,024 crore ( LPG imports during 2019-20 ) !
