Govt looks to positions India

Article link: Government looks to position India as manpower supplier to world

Extract from the article:

The article discusses the Indian government's strategic intent to position India as a significant supplier of skilled manpower to the global workforce.

With a focus on skill development and training programs, the government aims to enhance the employability of Indian youth for opportunities both within the country and overseas.

The reinvigorated Skills India Mission 2.0 is set to leverage private sector engagement to bolster apprenticeship training and align with PM Narendra Modi's vision of making India the global "skills capital."

The initiative underscores a shift towards a demand-driven approach to skill development, catering to the evolving needs of industries and economies worldwide.

My Take:

A. Skilling for World ? Here is why & how!

In my blog post titled "Skilling for World ? Here is why & how!" from May 2022, I emphasized the importance of a forward-looking approach to skill development.

The government's initiative of launching Skills India Mission 2.0 aligns closely with the concept I presented.

As I predicted the need for tapping global opportunities through skill enhancement programs, the current focus on positioning India as a manpower supplier validates the foresight shared in my blog.

B. Skill Capital of the World

Reflecting on my blog post "Skill Capital of the World" from October 2023, where I highlighted PM Modi's vision of India becoming the global skill capital, it's evident that the government's current efforts resonate with this vision.

The call to make India a hub for skilled manpower echoes the idea I proposed years ago. The recent steps taken by the government to enhance apprenticeship training and workforce readiness signify a crucial stride towards realizing the goal of surplus skilled manpower for export.

This alignment reinforces the significance of proactive skill development strategies for India's global positioning.

Call to Action:

To the Indian Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship: Embrace innovative skill enhancement initiatives that cater to the dynamic demands of the global market.

Continuously engage with industry stakeholders to ensure the relevance and effectiveness of skill development programs. Foster a robust ecosystem that nurtures a skilled workforce ready to contribute competitively on the international stage.
