Indian Space Research Organisation: 'If India can make Sensors for Rockets, it can make for Cars Too'

Extract from the article:

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has showcased its versatility by demonstrating that the sensors developed for rockets can also be utilized in the automotive industry.

By leveraging its expertise in sensor technology, ISRO has paved the way for innovation in the Indian automobile sector. The successful adaptation of sensor technology from space applications to everyday vehicles highlights India's potential to excel in diverse technological domains.

ISRO's initiative not only signifies technological advancement but also underlines the country's capability to drive innovation across different sectors.

My Take:

Reflecting on the recent developments at ISRO, I am reminded of a blog post I wrote back in 2017 titled "Let us give ISRO a chance."

In that post, I emphasized ISRO's innovative approach towards addressing environmental challenges by designing a solar hybrid electric car powered by lithium-ion batteries developed in-house.

The blog highlighted ISRO's commitment to sustainability and showcased its potential to revolutionize the automotive industry.

The current integration of sensor technology further exemplifies ISRO's visionary thinking and its ability to transcend traditional boundaries, echoing the essence of my earlier sentiments.

Furthermore, in my blog post "Look Before You Leap," also from 2017, I delved into ISRO's continuous efforts in developing eco-friendly technologies such as the solar hybrid electric car.

The foresight displayed by ISRO in tackling air pollution issues through indigenous solutions resonates with the organization's recent endeavors in sensor technology adaptation for cars. This seamless transition from space to terrestrial applications underscores ISRO's adaptability and forward-thinking approach, aligning perfectly with the organization's ethos of pushing boundaries and exploring new frontiers.

Call to Action:

To the Indian automotive industry and policymakers, I urge you to take a leaf out of ISRO's book and embrace indigenous technological advancements.

Collaborate with research institutions and organizations like ISRO to foster innovation and drive sustainable solutions for the automotive sector.

Let us harness our country's expertise and capabilities to propel the automobile industry to new heights, mirroring the success and ingenuity demonstrated by ISRO in this realm.
