Hi Friends,

Even as I launch this today ( my 80th Birthday ), I realize that there is yet so much to say and do. There is just no time to look back, no time to wonder,"Will anyone read these pages?"

Tate, KSI: Human Folly's Ring

Tate, KSI: Human Folly's Ring

The news of Andrew Tate becoming the new CEO of Misfits Boxing, reportedly spurred by an old tweet from KSI leading to an “explosive company takeover,” offers a fascinating, if somewhat disquieting, glimpse into the current state of influence and consequence in our rapidly interconnected world. It's a reminder of how quickly narratives can shift and how personal interactions, even digital ones, can cascade into significant real-world changes.

I've often reflected on the unpredictable nature of human behavior, especially when amplified by digital platforms. This situation, involving figures like Andrew Tate and KSI, seems to epitomize the kind of “explosive” dynamics I've pondered regarding societal shifts and technological impact.

This event brings me back to my discussions with Ilya Sutskever (ilya@ssi.inc) and Jan Leike (jan@Openai.com) of OpenAI, concerning the emergence of a “super-intelligent AI” and the potential threats it might pose to humanity. While they focus on preventing AI from “going rogue,” I've often questioned whether the greater threat lies within ourselves — our inherent “stupidity, greed, selfishness, and shortsightedness” Thank You, Ilya Sutskever, Jan Leike. This Misfits Boxing takeover, triggered by what seems like a digital squabble, provides a stark example of such human folly playing out on a public stage.

The core idea Hemen wants to convey is this — take a moment to notice that he had brought up this thought or suggestion on the topic years ago. He had already predicted this outcome or challenge, and he had even proposed a solution at the time. Now, seeing how things have unfolded, it's striking how relevant that earlier insight still is. Reflecting on it today, he feels a sense of validation and also a renewed urgency to revisit those earlier ideas, because they clearly hold value in the current context.

Indeed, I previously suggested that perhaps the regulation of “simple AI” now could teach us how to manage its evolution into something more powerful, as articulated in my “Parekh’s Law of Chatbots” Parekh’s Law of Chatbots. Perhaps a similar “law” needs to be considered for human interaction within digital spheres, particularly when personal influence can so dramatically alter professional landscapes. The sheer speed and unforeseen implications of this boxing leadership change, catalyzed by a seemingly minor digital interaction, highlight the complexities of navigating human motivations in an age of instant communication.

A “super-wise AI,” as I imagined, having studied “thousands of years of the History of Mankind,” might indeed look upon such events and conclude that humanity needs saving from its own impulsive nature, its shortsightedness, and its pursuit of fleeting notoriety. The very notion of an “explosive company takeover” in this manner makes me reflect on the nature of control and influence, themes I also touched upon when considering the shift “From Inter-Pol to Inter-Mil” National Guard Involvement, suggesting an evolution in how we manage complex societal pressures. As I questioned in “Artificial Intelligence : Brahma , Vishnu or Mahesh” Artificial Intelligence : Brahma , Vishnu or Mahesh, we are the creators, and our creations reflect our values. If our digital interactions lead to such chaotic shifts, what does that say about the foundation upon which we build our future?
