Enough to entice Elon ?

I don’t think so

Context :

TN government rolls out 100 % tax exemption for e-vehicles

Extract :

The government said that after careful examination it has decided to grant a full tax exemption for all BOVs.

All BOVs, both transport and non-transport (EVs), are exempted from

         payment of motor vehicle tax

Ø          Last year, it launched a separate policy for EVs, paving the way for fresh                investments by several players into EV manufacturing and associated areas

Ø  In March 2020, the State government announced it would also plan a futuristic EV charging station using solar power at a government campus

Ø  Delhi has announced an exemption of road tax on all EVs or BOVs while States like Telangana, which recently announced a new EV policy, offer 100 per cent exemption in road tax and registration fees for early adopters in different EV segments

===================================================

Without doubt, Rohan Patel ( Senior Global Director – Public Policy and Business Development – TESLA ) would have carefully studied :

EV-Ready India ( Part 1 : Value Chain Analysis of State EV Policies ) / WEF / Oct 2019

( Andhra – Bihar – Delhi – Karnataka – Kerala – Maharashtra – Tamil Nadu – Telangana – Uttarakhand – Uttar Pradesh )

And then concluded :

Not enough !

===================================================

What would entice Elon to come to India ?

Here is what I think would entice Elon Musk to set up his next Terrafactory ( Gigafactory x 1,000 ) in India ( after Berlin – Texas – Shanghai ) :

[ A ]….    Lower Cost of Steel

[ B ]….    Lower cost of Electric Power

[ C  ]  … Lower cost of Finance

[ D ] ….  Lower cost of Supply Chain of components

[ E ]  ….  Lower cost of Sea-Freight ( for Imports-Exports )

[ F ] …..  Lower On-road Sale Price through various incentives

( details : https://myblogepage.blogspot.com/2020/10/fastest-finger-first.html  )

===================================================

Why would these incentives entice Elon ?

Because these satisfy Tesla’s MASTER PLAN described below :

[ Source : Unbundling Elon Musk’s Tesla Masterplan For World Domination  /  Nov 2, 2020 ]

Extract :

The seven strategies at the core of Tesla’s masterplan—connectivity, electrification, autonomous, battery sustainability, data business model, new mobility and organizational structuring— would appear standard pre-requisites for any self-respecting automotive manufacturer.

What’s different is how Musk has approached them as part of his larger global vision.

===================================================

How can India help Elon achieveWorld Domination “ ?

By enabling Elon to export from India all over the world Model 3 , for $ 10,000 / - ( approx.. Rs 7.3 lakh ) – which is possible if our Central Government rolls out a GREEN CARPET , which is more than $ 3,500 subsidy of China

In the process save 1.67 million Indians dying premature death due to air pollution

And if Elon can be persuaded to manufacture in India POWERWALL solar power Storage Device for Rs 5,000 / - and couple this with Solar Cooker ( government giving away FREE to 80 million LPG-LNG users ( under Ujwalla scheme ), that would save annual foreign exchange outflow of Rs 70,024 crore ( LPG imports during 2019-20 ) !

This is no joke – just acceptance of Inevitable !

Maharashtra gets its first virtual court to handle traffic challan cases   [  02 Nov 2020 ]

Extract :

Ø  A dedicated virtual court for traffic violations in Maharashtra has been inaugurated by Chief Justice of India S A Bobde, an initiative aimed at freeing up judicial officers in every district from the burden of routine cases involving challans

Ø  “ Cases from across Maharashtra will be filed in this virtual court electronically “, said Justice Dhananjay Chandrachud.  “ A single judge sitting in Katol will adjudicate all the cases electronically . Violators can plead guilty and pay the fine by visiting www.vcourts.gov.in , or choose the option to contest the case “

Ø  “ Implementation of the virtual court concept has freed 19 judicial officers who now can handle litigation instead of taking up routine traffic violation cases “, Justice Chandrachud told TOI

Justice Chandrachud said the E-Committee could assign the task of running the virtual court to ANY judicial officer in Maharashtra. The task of compounding the offence on payment of fine can be performed from ANYWHERE in the State as all work is done electronically by virtual mode , he added

Average e-transactions for 304 days this year was Rs 66.56 lakh per day

SC favours serving  summons through text msgs, email    [  28 Oct 2020 ]

Extract :

Ø  The Supreme Court on Tuesday favoured serving court summons through SMSWhatsApp and email in contrast to the present system of physical delivery to the accused and sought response from high courts and state DGPs on adopting such digital means.

>  A bench of Chief Justice S A Bobde and L Nageswara Rao, which is

examining various measures to remove deficiencies in criminal trial and to       ensure expeditious trial in criminal cases, directed the high courts and DGPs     to give suggestions within four weeks on a report of senior advocate                 Siddharth Luthra and lawyer K Parameshwar, who as amicus curiae,                 recommended serving summons through digital platforms in case of bounced      cheques.

" The high courts must also be directed to formulate a scheme for online mediation of pending cases at the trial / appeal / revisional stages so that pending case could be effectively disposed off “

Ø  Embracing technology keeps us in tune with the times. Since the virus outbreak, this view has gathered further relevance. India has about 448 million mobile phone internet users according to statista.com. The apex court’s move will lessen physical contact in delivery of summons and increase quicker public outreach in many cases.

“Court puts ex-minister, MLA on trial through WhatsApp , SC asks if it’s a joke
 “ [ TOI – 09 Sept 2018 ]

Extract :

Ø   The lower court judge in Hazaribagh put the accused on trial by  pronouncing the order framing the charges against them through a WhatsApp call

Ø   A bench comprising Justices  S  A  Bobde and  L N Rao , said :

“ We are here on the way of trial being conducted through WhatsApp . This

         cannot be done .

What kind of a trial is this ? Is this a kind of joke ? “

Which prompted me to send following E Mail to the supremecourt@nic.in :

Justice delayed is Justice Denied …………………………..[ 12 Sept 2018 ]

Extract :

If we want to reduce the average “case disposal time “ from 6 YEARS to 6 MONTHS , we must do better than the Chinese – as follows :

Ø  Launch online portal……..www.OnlineJustice.gov.in

                   …..having following features / pages / User Interfaces :

            #   Who can register a litigation and how ( detailed form to be filled in )

            #   What kind of complaints can be filed ( Eg; property / divorce / fraud

                  / loans etc )

           #   Time frame of hearings ( based on backlog at that point )

           #   Search / Selection of “ empanelled lawyers “ ( with their fees tariff )

           #   Method of conducting “ Online Trial “ ( Audio – Video Conference calls )

           #   Online payment of Court Fees / Lawyer’s fees

           #   Who can “ watch “ the online trial and how ( Video broadcast ) and

                 when

           #   Progress Chart as trial proceeds / Upload – Download of documents

           #   Court Room allotted ( by software ) to each litigation

Not being limited by any “ Physical Constraints “ , it will be possible ( for the software ), to open as many “ Virtual / Online “ Court Rooms as required

Only limitation will be the Number of available Judges at any given time

Let none have doubts about the ability of our Start Ups to design / develop and

launch such a portal within 6 months, whose “ Conceptual Frame Work “ could

    resemble ,

     On Line Jobs Fair

And as far as finding 10,000 Judges to conduct “ Online Trials “ from the comfort

of their homes ( and without  imposing any “ Infrastructure Burden “ on the State

 – except providing them with a fast broadband connection),

I suggest that we rope in retired judges on a “ Per Case Retainer “ basis ( paid into their Jan Dhan accounts )

There must be a “ Bonus cum Penalty “ formula to govern the payments to the Judges , depending upon the “ Actual Time “ taken to dispose off a given case as against the “ Target Time “ ( to be computed by Artificial Intelligent Software, based on historical data being continuously compiled for all the cases, once the portal gets launched )

I urge Chief Justice Hon Deepak Misraji to treat this email as a PIL and “ direct “ the NDA government to initiate  action on this suggestion ( I cannot afford a lawyer ! )

Your " Activism " in this matter will go a long way to restore the faith of the ordinary citizens in the judiciary  !

408 Km vertical distance OK ?

It seems, during current ongoing presidential election, astronaut  Kate Rubins  voted from the International Space Station , flying 408 Km above the earth

Context :

Astronaut votes from Space

Extract :

Rubins and Nasa described the process as a form of absentee voting. A secure electronic ballot generated by a clerk’s office in Harris County, home of Nasa’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, was sent up via email to the ISS. Rubins filled out the ballot in the email and it was downlinked and delivered back to the clerk’s office.

NASA Astronaut Kate Rubins Casts Her Vote from Space

Extract :

NASA astronaut Kate Rubins points to the International Space Station's "voting booth" where she cast her vote from space this month. This is actually Rubins' second time to vote from low-Earth orbit, having cast her first vote from space in 2016 when she was an Expedition 48-49 crew member.

Voting in space has been possible since 1997 when a bill passed to legally allow voting from space in Texas. Since then, several NASA astronauts have exercised this civic duty from orbit. Learn more about how astronauts cast their vote from orbit: https://www.nasa.gov/feature/astronauts-to-vote-in-space.

===================================================

MY TAKE :

Ø  In India , some 290 million voters could not vote , simply because they were ( may be ) 408 Km away ( horizontally ) from their “ designated “ voting booth ! And we have no legal provision for REMOTE VOTING

Ø  A few months back, Times of India has launched a campaign called :

Lost Votes

Ø  For over 8 years now , I have been sending e mails to Cabinet Ministers / state Chief Ministers etc ., to pass a law which will enable all the voters ( some 900 million ), to vote using their mobile phones . My e mails listed below

Ø  It is understandable that politicians who could not / would not trust EVMs , are raising all kinds of doubts for a Mobile-based voting

Ø  In several of my e mails , I have given examples where mobile-based voting has been carried out successfully – using BLOCKCHAIN technology

Ø

Ø  If there is still any lingering doubts, I urge the politicians to take a look at :
