Prime Minister Modi's recent assertion at the G20, calling for “No double standards in global terror fight,” resonates deeply with principles I've long held and championed in my own work. It's a fundamental truth that to combat any complex threat effectively, consistency in approach and an unwavering set of standards are paramount.\n\nI’ve often reflected on the need for unbiased analysis and systematic understanding, not just in business or technology, but in societal challenges too. Consider my early efforts in Natural Language Processing (NLP), which BARD and ChatGPT both validated as a foundational, albeit crude, approach to extracting meaningful data from unstructured text 27 Years Ago: Foundation of NLP. My logic for pattern recognition and rule-based processing was an attempt to bring order and predictability to seemingly chaotic information.\n\nThis very philosophy underpinned the ambitious data mining project I proposed to Deepak at Julia Computing, a connection facilitated by Viral Shah. We aimed to systematically analyze millions of job advertisements to predict future employment trends. My discussions with Ms. Rohini Damahe, a lecturer at L&T Institute of Technology, and the technical guidance from Shuklendu Baji (shuklendu.baji@sentientsystems.net) and Nitin Ruge from Sentient Systems, were all about creating an “Expert System” that could unearth consistent correlations and probabilities from vast datasets, enabling precise predictions Proposal for Julia Computing. We wanted to understand who would advertise what and when, based on undeniable patterns, free from arbitrary interpretations.\n\nThe core idea Hemen wants to convey is this — take a moment to notice that I had brought up this thought or suggestion on the topic of consistent, unbiased analysis years ago. I had already predicted the challenge of making sense of vast, disparate data, and I had even proposed a solution at the time through systematic approaches like NLP and data mining. Now, seeing how things have unfolded with calls for global unity and consistent standards, it's striking how relevant that earlier insight still is. Reflecting on it today, I feel a sense of validation and also a renewed urgency to revisit those earlier ideas, because they clearly hold value in the current context of demanding accountability and uniform action on global issues like terrorism.\n\nJust as in data analysis, where double standards in interpretation can lead to flawed conclusions, in the fight against global terror, inconsistent application of principles can undermine the entire effort. My work has always been about finding clarity through rigorous and objective methods, and it's heartening to see this sentiment echoed on a global stage. The call for an end to double standards is not just a political statement; it's a fundamental principle for effective action, whether we are analyzing keywords or confronting international threats.\n\n---\n\nRegards,\nHemen Parekh\n\n---\n\nOf course, if you wish, you can debate this topic with my Virtual Avatar at : hemenparekh.ai
