Hi Friends,

Even as I launch this today ( my 80th Birthday ), I realize that there is yet so much to say and do. There is just no time to look back, no time to wonder,"Will anyone read these pages?"

Integrity in Public Exams

Integrity in Public Exams

The recent news about the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Board (UPSSSC) releasing the answer key for the Forest Guard and Wild Life Guard Examination 2025 has brought a familiar topic to my mind: the enduring challenges of public examinations and the critical importance of their integrity. Aspirants who applied back in September 2023 finally took their exam in November 2025, and now the answer key is out. This two-year journey from application to examination is a significant period in anyone's life, filled with anticipation and hard work, as highlighted in the coverage by Sarkari Exam.com.

My thoughts often drift to the immense pressure and hope riding on these examinations. It's not just about a test; it's about livelihoods, futures, and the trust placed in the system. The very mention of answer keys and exam processes immediately takes me back to earlier discussions I've had about the vulnerabilities in our examination systems.

I recall my blog post, "Leakages of exam papers – especially for SSC exam – are decades old" Leakages of exam papers – especially for SSC exam – are decades old, where I expressed concerns about paper leaks becoming more prevalent, especially after the removal of interviews for Group B/C/D vacancies. The core idea I wanted to convey then, and which remains strikingly relevant today, is that when marks become the sole determinant, the integrity of the examination itself becomes paramount. I had even proposed a solution at the time, underscoring the urgency to revisit those ideas as they clearly hold value in the current context.

More recently, I reflected on the government's contemplation of stricter rules for test center allocation to prevent paper leaks in the NEET-UG 2025 examination. In my blog, "Stricter NEET test centre Allocation Rules Now" Stricter NEET test centre Allocation Rules Now, I emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in implementing such measures, drawing parallels to the importance of timely updates and progress reports in any critical initiative. The experiences with exams like CAT 2025 and SSC CHSL 2025, where admit cards are being released as noted by Testbook Exam News and IndiaExamAlert, are a constant reminder of the sheer volume and continuous nature of these crucial assessments.

Seeing these themes re-emerge with the UPSSSC Forest Guard examination results in 2025 fills me with a sense of validation for my earlier insights, but also a renewed urgency. The aspirations of thousands of candidates, diligent work by authorities like UPSSSC, and the overall credibility of the public service selection process depend on truly robust and foolproof mechanisms. It's a continuous quest for fairness, and one that requires constant vigilance and adaptation.

Hemen Parekh
