India's highest altitude institute in Ladakh gets LiFi network for faster internet      /    Hindu   /  22 Sept 2021

Extract :

Ø  The Students' Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh (SECMOL) has become the first-of-its-kind institute in the Union Territory to have an internet connection using Light Fidelity (LiFi) technology.

Ø  Ahmedabad-based Nav Wireless Technologies Pvt Ltd has set up a LiFi network at India's highest altitude educational organisation to help the local education fraternity, the company said in a statement here.

Ø  LiFi means transmitting data with a light beam spectrum through open space in outdoor and indoor environments.

Ø  LiFi systems provide ultra-fast data connections, and are especially useful in urban areas where radio spectra are congested and also very useful in rural areas wherein Fiber Optic Cables or networks are not reachable.

Ø  With this LiFi setup, it said the faculties and students would get faster and safer internet connections over the existing electric power lines for various educational purposes.

Ø  Nav Wireless Technologies is the only registered company in the LiFi sector in Asia. Elaborating on the motive behind the project, CTO of Nav Wireless Technologies Hardik Soni said, "We had approached the institute authorities for this project and they were highly impressed with such an innovative idea to provide faster, safer, and cheaper internet.

Ø  Under the leadership of SECMOL founder and president Sonam Wangchuk, the company will team up for covering the entire Ladakh and connect the unconnected areas using LiFi technology, he said.

Ø  "I am happy to see the set up for permanent internet connectivity using the innovative LiFi technology at our campus. This Li-Fi technology can bring revolutionary changes in the education sector,” Wangchuk said.

Ø  He said it would enable the students to stream educational videos and download resources with flawless connectivity.

Ø  "Faculties will also benefit from conducting online lectures and improving their skills. As this technology is environment-friendly, it goes with our vision to make a pollution-free and green world," he said.

Dear Ashwini Vaishnawji – Rajeev Chandrasekharji ,

Even as you are pushing Bharat-Net to cover entire India with broadband, I urge you to INCENTIVIZE our ailing DISCOMS to start converting their millions of Kilometers of electric power-lines to deliver INTERNET , using Li-Fi technology

In India, we have 290 million households which are installed with billions of LED lamps ( - apart from LED lamps installed in commercial / industrial buildings and on public roads )

With LiFi, we have an opportunity to deliver broadband through each of these LED lamps !

Nothing ( not even 5G ) can DIGITIZE INDIA better / faster / cheaper than LiFi technology

LiFi has the potential of ushering a revolution in Education / skilling of millions of youth using AR-VR headsets , and turning India into the BACK OFFICE of the WORLD , by getting millions of youth to become self-employed

I urge you to convert all GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS in Delhi to switch-over to LiFi, as a PILOT PROJECT

A Portal that is Popular

 Congratulations, Labour Minister

E-Shram web portal was launched on 26 Aug
https://eshram.gov.in/home

In the past 28 days , 142, 79, 483 migrant workers have registered

An ave of approx 5 Lakh / day

That rate was a mere 2 Lakh / day in the first week of launch . May be , during past week , it could have been 7 lakhs / day

I hope, in the weeks to come, the registrations may pick-up further and reach an average of 10 Lakh / day

But Govt wants to register all of 38 crore ( 3800 lakh ) migrant workers

That could take 380 days !

I urge the Labour Minister to consider my suggestions at :

“ Tractor-Pulled “ to “ Technology-Pushed “

That could be the name of the next chapter in the “ History of Indian Agriculture

I am talking about a “ Ground-Breaking  Reform  just ushered by Shri Tomar ( Agri Minister )

Context :

Centre inks 5 deals for digital agri push    /   HT    /   15 Sept 2021

Extract :

The ministry of agriculture signed agreements with five firms on Tuesday to push a project to harness big data from the farm sector for a digitised platform known as “Agri Stack”, a move officials said would help bring new technologies and private investment in the country’s primary sector.

A ministry’s statement said Union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar oversaw the signing of agreements with five companies: CISCO, Ninjacart, Jio Platforms Limited, ITC Limited and NCDEX e-Markets Limited (NeML).

“Modernisation of the agriculture sector will continue by infusing new technologies so that farmers can increase their income,” the statement said.

Tuesday’s agreements would pave the way for pilot projects which will allow farmers to “take informed decisions on

   #   what crop to grow,

   #   what variety of seed to use and

   #   what best practices (sic) to adopt to maximise the yield”

Agristack: The New Digital Push in Agriculture  / 26 June 2021

Extract :

o    Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Microsoft to run a pilot programme for 100 villages in 6 states.

  • The MoU requires Microsoft to create a Unified Farmer Service Interface’ through its cloud computing services.
  • It is a collection of technologies and digital databases that focuses on farmers and the agricultural sector.
  • AgriStack will create a unified platform for farmers to provide them end to end services across the agriculture food value chain.

o    Under the programme, each farmer will have a unique digital identification (farmers’ ID) that contains,

      #  personal details,

      #  information about the land they farm, as well as

      #  production and financial details.

  • Among the new proposed digital farming technologies and services under the programme include,

     #   Sensors to monitor cattle,

     #   Drones to analyse soil and apply pesticide,

-        may significantly improve the farm yields and boost farmers' incomes.

  • Problems such as,

      #   Inadequate access to credit and information,

      #   Pest infestation,

      #   Crop wastage,

      #   Poor price discovery and

      #   Yield forecasting

-       can be sufficiently addressed by use of digital technology.

My  Take :

Earlier I had sent following suggestions to our Cabinet Minsters :

Ø      Influence farmers and win Votes ?             [ 04 Feb 2019 ]

Extract :

Can we take help of TECHNOLOGY to solve these problems ?

Yes , of course !

We need technologies which will , dynamically / automatically , compute for each crop ,

Costs of all the INPUTS (water-fertilizer-seeds-power –labour ), based on

         NORMS

OUTPUTS  from the area of land owned by these farmers ( in Kg )

MSP ( since INPUTS will vary from crop-to-crop and area-to-area )

Transfer the MSP amount to Jan Dhan bank accounts of each beneficiary

        farmer ( DBT )

It is possible to get our constellation of 7 NaviC satellites to “ map / geotag “ , each and every farm ( with a resolution of 1 meter ) and calculate its area

This can be verified by using technology offered by…. what3words

For each type of crop , INPUT NORMS are already established , using historical data

OUTPUTS NORMS ( kg / acre ) for different crops , are statistically established figures

“ Agricultural Crop Assessment “  is being offered by Planet , BlackSkySatellogic

“ Humidity Sensors “ developed by Dr Shalini Prasad

As far as CROP INSURANCE is concerned, Remote Sensing Satellites are already being deployed

I realize that experts ( agriculture and economy ) might laugh , if I urge Shri Modiji :

“ Give our Scientists and Software Engineers a chance to develop such a TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM , based on the following matrix, which will ensure DBT to our farmers, within 24 hours of pre-determined EVENTS or DATES or CABINET DECISION ANNOUNCEMENTS, without the delay and arbitrariness of “ human intervention “

Gadkariji proves my point : almost

My point :

Government should enable users of Social Media to monetize their personal data

Why ?

Social Media are compiling personal data of users ( without their permission ) / minting tons of money by selling this data ( to any buyer ) for targeted advertisements but not sharing this income with the owners of data

How much money can users earn if Social Media were forced to pay for this personal data ?

My rough estimate is that every user of Social Media (700 million Indians ), could get approx. Rs 30,000 per month

How could government help in this matter ?

By implementing a technology platform described at :

Ø  Digital Dividend from Demographic Data ……..[ 14 Feb 2019 ]

Ø  SARAL ………………………………………………………………[ 10 Feb 2019 ]

Any proof / example of some such a possibility ?

Yes

Shri Nitin Gadkariji is earning Rs 4 lakh / month from YouTube royalties

Tags to riches: Gadkari's YouTube Expressway a hit with fans  / Deccan Herald  /  19 Septt

Extract :

Gadkariji’s number of followers :

#   Twitter……………92  lakhs

#   Facebook……….16  lakhs

#   Instagram……..13  lakhs

#   Youtube……………2  lakhs

Ø  Gadkari recently said he gets Rs four lakh every month as royalty from YouTube, as viewership of his lecture videos posted on the popular video streaming platform has increased during the pandemic period.

Ø  Content monetisation has helped him earn big bucks from YouTube

Ø  In these virtual interactions, Gadkari’s approach is to ask people to convert adversity into opportunity

Dear Shri Gadkariji,

I have no doubt that you are aware of the fact that Youtube must be earning Rs 40 lakh per month , by selling personal data of your 2 lakh followers ( to advertisers for targeted ads ).

No wonder it can afford to pay you 10 % of what it earns from data of your followers

I urge you to use your “ concern for people “ , to persuade your Cabinet Colleagues to implement my suggestion

In place of Rs 4 lakh / month, even if Social Media users can get Rs 4,000 / month, it would be a UBI ( Universal Basic Income ) for millions which costs nothing to the exchequer !
