Data Protection Bill V 1.0 : RIP

Context :

Centre pulls data protection bill that fanned privacy fears / TelegraphIndia  /  04 Aug 2022

Extract :

On Wednesday, Ashwini Vaishnaw, minister for electronics and information technology, withdrew the bill in the Lok Sabha and said a new, comprehensive law would be prepared after considering all the suggestions made earlier.

MY  TAKE :

Dear Shri Vaishnawji,

In case you did not get a chance to :

Ø  Examine my “ reservations “ re the old Bill , and

Ø  Carefully study the merits of my “ suggestions “ for its modifications , then

I urge you to take very close look at the following e-mails sent to you and to your predecessor

The biggest drawbacks of the old Bill were :

#    Interests of Users of Social Media ( 700 – 800 million ) were totally neglected !

#    Interests of Data Intermediaries and Data Thieves were sought to be protected

#    An unhealthy obsession with controlling / removing “ Fake News “ and on regulation

#    Making BIG TECH pay some pittance of money ( by way of tax ) , ala GDPR

#    No mechanism what-so-ever to “ Compensate “ those 800 million users , whose PERSONAL – PRIVATE

data was being collected / compiled / sold for BILLIONS of dollars by BIG TECH – that too , without

explicit permission from each user ( “ Data Owner “ – but only on paper ! )

  Dear Shri Vaishnawji,

It is time for you to stand up for the POOR PEOPLE of India

You have been given that rare “ second chance “ to enable each user to get a monthly “ compensation “ of

Rs 30,000 , from those DATA THIEVES

By implementing :

SARAL …………………………………………………………………[ 10 Feb 2019 ]

Digital Dividend from Demographic Data ………..[ 14 Feb 2019 ]

You have a UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY to “ GARIBI HATAO “ before the 2024 general elections, without a

burden of a single Rupee on the Exchequers

And, you need NOT include this item in BJP’s Sankalp Patra , for fear of being treated as a FREEBIE

LS Speaker Om Birla would like this

Over the past few days, Speakers ( LS + RS ) were forced to suspend some 23

odd members for shouting / rowdy behaviour / obstructing the smooth working of

the Parliament

This is the story of most past sessions of the Parliament, with very little getting

accomplished for the benefit of 140 crore citizen

Suspending members in the past has not led to any improved behaviour of current

members ( - much like capital punishment has failed to reduce the number of

murders ? )

There is only one solution to put a permanent end to this tamasha :

No more parliament session which is physical

All sessions to be “ virtual video sessions “ in which :

Members to participate online from their homes

Speaker has Admin Control, to turn off the video / audio of any rowdy / shouting

member or of a member who exceeds more than 3 minutes of speaking

To be able to " speak " , a member will need to fill in an Online Form on Sansad

Portal, requesting permission to speak, clearly selecting ( from appropriate drop

lists ),

- which session

- which subject / topic

Based on this, Speaker will confirm or deny permission ( this will get displayed on

the Portal )

Or the Speaker may email the concerned Member to just “ Record “ his / her

speech ( audio ) on the Snsad Portal , which ( assuming permission was granted ),

will get PODCAST at the allotted time-slot

Any citizen should be able to login , into any session as a Mute Spectator, by

entering his / her Aadhar ID

Next ?

Projecting entire Virtual Proceedings as a 3D volumetric Hologram on a Smart

phone, using technology developed by IKININC

https://ikininc.com/products/ryz-3d-hologram-technology/

All of this “ Virtual Loksabha “ platform development could be done in less than 3

months and at a cost of less than Rs 50 crore

This is one time cost

Now consider the SAVINGS

Let us assume that , in a year Parliament meets for 100 days ( all sessions put together )

Each session is for 8 hours

That translates into 800 work-hours / year

Recent press releases put the cost at Rs 1.5 crore / hour

Hence implementing my suggestion would save the country Rs 1,200 crore / year

No doubt, most of the Political Parties would oppose my suggestion

There is one way, we can get all parties to accept this

By conducting an ONLINE  SURVEY and publishing the results

OR,

BJP could incorporate this item ( proposed Governance Reform ) in its Sankalp

Patras ( Election Manifestos ) for the forthcoming Dec 2022 elections in 7 States

This single one item will ensure that it wins absolute majority in all the 7 States !

Bond Street: Fastest-Finger-First On Bond Street: Large Investors Alert Sebi    /  22 July  2022

Extract :

A few of these high-speed traders who are outwitting the traditional debt investors, like bond houses, asset managers, insurers and retirement funds, are suspected to be using specialised software to grab securities in what’s largely a ‘fastest-finger-first’ contest.

In a volatile market when prices improve, they sell down the cornered papers almost immediately to make quick money.

Large bond investors have told the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) that some of the players are gaming the electronic bidding system to snatch deals within less than a second of the opening of the issue.

Yesterday's Proverb  :  Necessity is the Mother of Invention

Today's Mantra        :  Competition is the Mother of Innovation

So, just wait to find out which Mobile Wallet comes up with the following " innovations " FIRST :

*  All bank accounts of a person ( in different banks ) become inter- operable /

fungible, through seamless interlinking , using Aadhar / UPI Interface in a

    Mobile Wallet

No need to " select " a particular bank name

*  All transactions using a Mobile Wallet, automatically entered in BLOCK-

CHAIN database commonly shared by ALL banks

Wallet based algorithm will  move funds across different bank accounts  for best

yield , constantly searching for best interest rates offered by banks on Fixed

    Deposits

This will happen automatically, much like algorithm-based share trading ,

taking advantage of price differences in two bourses located 300 km apart ( in

    one thousandths of a second ! )

And since computing power of mobiles are doubling every 18 months ( Moore's

Law ), nothing will stop algo-trading through a Mobile Wallet , as well !

   (  Demat A/C on Wallet ? )
