 Building on Export Momentum: A Targeted Defence Export Goal for FY 2026–27

India’s defence sector has demonstrated remarkable progress in recent years,

 particularly in the area of exports, with strong year-on-year growth.

With the FY 2026–27 defence allocation at approximately ₹7,84,678 crore, the

 foundation for further expansion is firmly in place.

Given this trajectory, may I suggest:

👉 Setting a clear export target in the range of ₹45,000–50,000 crore for FY

 2026–27.

A formally articulated target could:

• Guide policy prioritisation

• Accelerate private sector participation
• 
  
• Strengthen India’s positioning as a global defence manufacturing hub
• 
  

This would also build on the impressive export momentum already achieved.
