Dear Commissioner Sajjanar ji,
[ cp-hyderabad@tspolice.gov.in ]
Please accept my heartiest congratulations on the launch of AI-CopWriter by Hyderabad City Police on 23 May 2026 — India's first AI-powered multilingual complaint recorder.
I am writing to share something that may interest you. On 29 December 2012, I had conceptualised a very similar app — described in a public blog post in August 2013, titled "I SIN >< U SIN" (I Seek It Now >< U Solve It Now):
http://www.hemenparekh.in/2013/08/i-sin-sin-that-could-be-name-of-android.html
My 2013 proposal and your 2026 AI-CopWriter share several key features:
| My concept — 2013 | AI-CopWriter — 2026 |
|---|---|
| Citizen speaks complaint in own language; voice recording for illiterate users | Officers record complaint in citizen's mother tongue; real-time transcription in 10 Indian languages |
| Instant reply with name of responsible officer and complaint number | Auto-generated FIR PDF with officer name, badge ID and FIR number — within seconds |
| Online tabulation of complaints received, cleared and pending — by department | Searchable archive by FIR number or complainant name, maintained across 80+ stations |
| Citizen files complaint directly from own mobile — without visiting any office | Not yet — officer records on behalf of citizen at the station |
That last row is the one dimension of my original vision that remains to be implemented — a citizen-facing version where any person can file a complaint directly from their own mobile phone, in their own language, without needing to visit a police station at all. That would be the complete realisation of "I SIN >< U SIN".
I mention this not to claim credit, but because ideas have a lineage — and it is deeply gratifying to see a forward-looking police force like Hyderabad's carry them forward with such speed and precision.
Your words at the launch — "Language should never stand between a citizen and justice" — could well have been the tagline of my 2013 blog.
Hats off, Sir. Hyderabad Police has once again shown India the way.
Hemen Parekh
